West Ham United (A) 01.09.2018

Steve Martin is 4th official, poisoning the mind of the ref and his proper assistants.

Massive game for them - after the international break they have Everton away, and Chelsea and Man Utd at Home - lose to us and they could easily lose their first seven games...

Just seen there last game recap. Doesn't seem to have been much in the way of criticism for Hart. Pretty poor. For the first two goals and takes a fairly bad decision and angle for the 3rd. Can cut him some slack due to the pace of delivery.

I have been thinking that we should be aiming for a win here now. Our defence is still a bit of a question mark but then at least ours is a system they know and our attackers and midfielders should win this for us.

Poor Joe, getting stick for goals against a team he doesn't play for...

Joe Hart of Burnley?

Mixed views, the odd "we should win this" and the odd "did you see them against City.."

Let's not talk them up too much - they drew 2-2 against 10 man Everton and lost 2-0 to 10 man Leicester.

As a team, it looks like they are a bit like us - far better in attack than defence. Boly looked truly chaotic in the Everton game - even more out of his depth than our lot.

They could be absolutely ideal opposition for a Pellegrini team.

If Arnie is unavailable, Yarmy in out wide, Antonio up top for me. Otherwise, the same team that played Arsenal.

F*ckin joke lot they are, will never forget up their place - 2000 grown men singing the Jeff Beck classic (not) 'hi ho wolverhampton, in their mong brummy accent c*nts

People have been saying how well Wolves played last weekend. I thought they did well on the counter, but I also thought City dominated the game and on a different day those shots that hit the bar would have gone in an made it a 3-1, 4-1 scoreline.

The scoreline flattered them, in the same vein as the 3-1 scoreline with our game against Arsenal or Arsenal's loss to Chelsea the week before(Arsenal should have won that clash with the amount of point blank chances they had)

Statistically, I believe Wolves are in the bottom 2-3 in terms of shots on target(along with the usual suspects in Cardiff. To contrast, Bournemouth on the other hand ranks in the top 3-4 so far this season). Their failure to take advantage against a 10-man Everton - and in fact going behind when Everton were down to 10 men - is surely another mark against them.

Nothing is given in this league but everything in my head says that we should at least be able to come away with something in this game. Hopefully we can put in a performance that builds upon what we've been able to do last weekend.

Their expectations are already through the roof.

Perfect for us :)

This is a team who went to Liverpool (who are clearly not as good as City) on the opening day, lost 4-0 and it could easily have been double figures, so I don't think we need lectures from them on how you face up to top six opposition.

Whereas barking some nonsense about "blowing pretty bubbles" is the height of culture

Seems to be the default insult of clubs fans of this patch particularly fans from clubs in the southern half of the country.

Only seen highlights of West Ham so far but they look like a bunch of individual talents in search of a system. Heavily reliant on the individual rather than team concept much like Pellegrini at Man City.
