If your DM is doing his job he stops those breaks.
mid your keeper does his job he stops it at his near post
If your RB does his job Lingard can’t get past.

We’ve missed an open goal and Patricio had had a howler is what is annoying

we just look so panicky out of possession. The work with the ball is largely very good, honestly. Donck/Neves not positioned well enough at all and Coady/Saiss can’t defend those spaces.

the manner of the goals is embarrassing though. All preventable in own way, just foul the fuckers.
It's part of the learning process I'd think. They haven't had to play that way before.

Patricio looks hapless. I fail to see his class.

Nothing has changed since kick off. A centre back to go with Boly, a centre mid to go with neves.

Understand people wanting a left back mind

The centre backs shouldn’t get to past this season, as much as I love what they’ve done for us.
Or again, we stick with the formation which served us so well. 4 at the back and, at best, we become another team lucky to stay up every season.

Neville says we defended the third like an under nines team.

he was right

I know it seems weird, but I'm actually pretty happy with that first half. It's been really entertaining, we've played some great football, with some really inventive movement - it's been really refreshing. Obviously defensively it's been a complete shambles at times, but it's always going to be with such a massive shift in intent. The problem is I actually think Jonny is the only defender we've got that I'm genuinely comfortable with seeing in a back 4, as I do worry a little about Boly. Obviously too much to expect a whole new back four, but a left back, centre back and an Ndidi/Kante type and I'm pretty happy.

What happens when Boly or the new CB are injured? Or when Boly is at the ACN? 😲 If the rest of our CBs can't play in a four?

With more composure we can score at least 2 in 2nd half. For me West Ham should only be one goal ahead based on 1st half.

If anyone ever wanted to know why Nuno didn't play a more attacking style, well this is it.

The problem with playing central midfielders as central defenders is.......they’re not natural defenders.

It really isn’t rocket science.
