Welcome to Wolves Matheus Cunha

You're saying there's some sort of conspiracy that Shi is telling Keen and Judah to create a negative Cunha narrative.

If they were doing that, Shi wouldn't want VP to have him as captain to completely contradict that would they?
I just think ‘conspiracy’ completely overplays it. It’s all detailed above as to why this follows in a long line of regular behaviour and isn’t that complicated. It’s not just Wolves either, it’s all over the place. I genuinely don’t get what’s so hard to imagine about it.

Because it's completely illogical.

So the E and S have long been positive about crap managers (i agree, they have), but apparently they are now being told to be negative about our best player by our Chairman, who we are trying to sell for as best financial package as possible? Whilst also having him as 3rd captain.

It's ludicrous.

Captain went off, vice captain wasn't on the pitch, armband went to whoever was in the vicinity. I doubt it's any deeper than that.
Ah, so there is no depth to this at all, but you think Shi is manipulating local journalists to form a narrative against our best player.

If Shi wanted a narrative to be formed against Cunha and was going to those efforts, he wouldn't want VP to have him as captain would he? Even if he is 3rd in line for it.

You could probably make an argument that Shi isn’t smart at all, and maintains his position as face-saving from the person/people who appointed him.

Bit problematic but relatively plausible.

Re: journos; if the club(s) can really just cut them off for not towing the “company line”, the vitriol should go towards the club(s), IMO. That’s a fucking terrible system.

I can't make you see what's in front of your eyes and was done trying last night
When you were telling me I was stupid?

Last nights comments by Dan etc were in a broader sense and about things from years ago like Saunders etc. They weren't about the specifics of this Cunha conspiracy you are peddling, and you still haven't given a logical reason as to why Shi would go to the effort of trying to create a negative narrative about his best player!?

Cunha has answered back at Keen, he's retaliated on Social Media to numerous people, he's been sent off twice for outright stupidity. His agent(s) are regularly pushing him in the media.

There is no narrative being created by anyone other than himself.

We had this bullshit last time before Spurs, then the match rolls around and you've got 30K Wolves fans singing his name and going delirious when he scored. His name was chanted loudly against United as well and it'll be the same on Saturday.

The fans who go to the games just want to see him play. The only people who care about this are children, weirdos and people with a vested interest in creating stories so that children and weirdos visit their website more often.

Yeah but Nath couldn't quite hear his reception and was unable confirm or deny any boo's

There doesn't seem to much negativity from within the club at all?

The players seem to love him, he's massive on the SM stuff, he had the armband the other day, he's attending when he is suspended, the players celebrate with him.

I’m trying to avoid an argument of real internet hyperbole, and hopefully we’re succeeding there, but you must see that even if you disagree it’s just not ludicrous? It’s certainly logical enough. Plenty on here who seem like reasonable people seem to think it’s actually pretty spot on, and not as part of some weird conspiracy but as part of normal day to day politics.

You think Shi has manufactured a narrative against Cunha by manipulating Keen and Judah to be negative about him.

Yes I think that's ludicrous. THAT idea is Internet hyperbole

Anyone who is negative about Cunha is negative because of the way he has behaved (getting sent off stupidly x 2, arguing on social media, holding the club to ransom in January, some of his on pitch body language) not because of Keen and Judah.

That's a far simpler explanation than what you and TT are doing mental gymnastics arguing for!?

Shi/Hobbs whoever gave them info in January.

I doubt they expected the pair of goons to run with until April. All they are doing is pushing their target audience to read the E&S, subscribe to the podcast etc

They were just doing the the standard club protecting itself stuff. They gave it to Percy and others as well.
If Cunha had gone in January the response would be vile but letting the fans know indirectly he was pushing back gave them the narrative it was player led...if he left.

Wolves fans negativity towards Cunha isn't because of Judah and Keen, it's because of his daft behaviour.
Can’t have one without the other tbf. K&J may not have instantiated the sentiment, but they do lend it a sense of legitimacy (not here, obviously).

K & J have (rightly) been criticised for not criticising GON.

But they're now being called puppets for criticising Cunha.

Cunha HAS acted the dick several times, it's not like he's been whiter than white?

Does Cunha not deserve negativity for his behaviour then?
Not to the degree that it’s been leveled, IMO. But I didn’t really have an issue with Mario going ape shit, either. I’d almost certainly been just as volatile at that point. You see it now; the players had to be aware how far below potential they were performing.

Not a glass house I can throw stones from.

It could easily be journalists going in two-footed on a player that is leaving as clickbait knowing that it will ingratiate them with Shi as it will make managing the sale easier if some Wolves fans view him negatively.

He's been banned for 7 games for incidents that were absolutely ridiculous.

They weren't 5 seconds of madness, they went on and on and on, if it wasn't for VP losing Cunha for those games after Bournemouth could have well and truly fucked us (it certainly cost us that tie). If that doesn't deserve ire, I'm not sure what does.
