Welcome to Wolves - Daniel Podence

Podence, Neto, Jota, Raul, Traore......this is a dream, right? I am gonna wake up and it’s 2000 and whatever and Dean Saunders is still the manager isn’t he?

I had very low expectations this window, and they have been nicely exceeded. I just hope Nuno is able to keep them all happy, I trust he can.

That introduction video was lovely. Everyone there speaks Portuguese and all, very nice to see :)

I was trying to work out if we could, if chasing a game could see Raul up top, with 3 behind him (out of Jota, Neto, Podence and Traore). Not sure if it would mess with our shape too much, as my initial muddled thinking couldn't work out who'd give way, yet would keep the team balanced.

I look forward to seeing the impact he makes.

The insane formation is this:

-----Neto----Raul-----Podence

--------------Jota

----------Moutinho / Neves

-Vinagre--------------------------Traore

-----------Saiss--Coady--Boly

CHAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGE!!!!!!!

Keegan-ball central. It would be 4-3 every fucking game.

We will be playing Neves as a centre back by the end of the season...

Thought that intro video was great. And you can see what Balague means when he talks about a "Wolves type player." Podence looks really impressive: focused, determined - and like Jota, a tough little bastard. We are going to give someone a serious tonking one day

You can't have Traore as the RWB.

I did lol at your post though Pad.

We couldn't do that without going 4 at the back

That's nuts! We would be five down by half time at home to AFC anyone! Or we could be five up against AFC anyone. Its really that fluid!

I respect the old adage that YouTube features really aren't worth the salt. I'm not sure why but I do not think this guy will cut the mustard. In fact I would prefer Cav who I always thought was far better than Costa. To be fair it's peanuts but we really should be looking towards a couple of marquee signings now.

Cav was a good player for us at the time, but he's no better than a good Championship player. He won't even make the Championship Team of the Season. Dan Podence might not deliver immediately, but Nuno has shown repeatedly that he can hugely improve a player over time, and Podence already looks pretty good. Plus he was clearly a player Nuno wanted. I'm excited: he looks like a committed, focused professional who'll do well for us

I've got no idea if he will 'cut the mustard' but I'm prepared to wait and see, I don't follow world football like you guys so I'd never heard of Boly, Neves, Jota, Neto or knew much about Raul. We don't appear to do marquee signings......seems to be working out ok so far. I'm more interested to see how he fits all of our forwards in and keeps them happy with gametime

I'd love to see a marquee signing. Perhaps we could persuade Tent Alexander-Arnold to sign for us

We could get Grant Halt or Ray Hankin back to the club. Their individual shirt sizes were a Mark F which is one size bigger than a Mark E.

I'll get my coat....

As for Podence for this weekend it would be bench only for me. Let him get used to Nuno's system and to prove himself as a better option than what we've already got before he jumps ahead of anyone in the pecking order. If we're chasing a game in the last few minutes then fine but other than that I wouldn't be using him yet.
