V.A.R. - Good for Purpose??

So it should do. There's no such phrase.

Fit for purpose.

'Fit for purpose' means good enough to do the job it was designed to do
'Good for purpose' means in a way that is good or helpful

Tut, kids of today

Nothing VAR can do on that one, linesman flagged and play was stopped.

That's just standard old school shit officiating.

Ref's fault.

The lino can flag all he wants, the ref doesn't have to stop play. In fact he's told not to if it's in any way close.

All on the ref this one. He clearly didn't think VAR was fit for purpose and so trusted his official Or he forgot he was supposed to play on and let some random ref miles away watch a TV and tell him it was onside.

Jota was on but Jimenez was a yard off when receiving the initial pass. We need to let this one go.

Er, no.

Jota doesn't even come into it.

Jimenez was the one flagged offside and he wasn't.

Turns out that official would've been right.

Neither of them were offside at any time.

They have shown it with the lines accross the pitch, Jota was more on-side than any of our off side goals have been this season

Would love to see a still but even after watching MOTD he still looks offside to me. You need to remember that in addition to the naked eye, attackers tend to be more offside when the gridlines come out too.

The guy nearest the lino is playing Raul on when the pass is made to him. Not even close to being offside. If VAR had been given a chance to look at it wouldnt have got as far as the 2 lines to check.

any link to a better/hd replay? cant find anything on youtube

It looked on when showed on match of the day, their LB playing Raul on.

It looked like the type of offside where Raul's armpit is offside so probably would have been ruled out I think. Fucking close though and shit from the officials all round.
