UEFA Nations League & Euro 2020 Qualification

Not sure what he was trying with TAA at the end. When Gomez came on I was hoping we were going more a Wolves 3-4-3

People have been going on for ages about Trent playing in midfield, and that's what was being tested. Personally, I thought he looked totally lost with no idea what he was doing!

Well they are guaranteed a play off place anyway and as all the teams who are remotely capable of playing football have already qualified then they Should get in via that route anyway.

I don’t really understand the playoffs. Everyone except Iceland has qualified from Pot A so who do they compete with in the playoffs? I assume it has to be the people in pot C who aren’t eligible for the playoffs and haven’t already qualified. It can’t be pot B teams as all of them have either already qualified or will be in the pot B play offs.

The whole system is fucking bizarre. Complicated beyond measure and reason. I am concentrating on win this game tonight, beat Hungary, hope Croatia beat Slovakia and qualify by right. Simpler that way.

Slovakia putting a massive spanner in the works. Croatia a real mixed bag at he moment. Very beige group that one with no real standout team(s)

Turnaround in Croatia and Slovakia down to 10.
Wales back in the driving seat

So a wales win and they qualify?

Yup. Wales beat Hungary and they go to 14 points. Slovakia can only get to 13 now.

Nice. I didn’t realise that at all.

Hungary need a win as well as a draw will see them likely level with Slovakia who have a superior H2H

It should be a decent game. Both teams have to win really.

Portugal finally ahead after a really laboured performance in the first half against Luxembourg.

Blimey. Kosovars REALLY love England. It's lovely to see, and the reasons for it are profound, but it is almost weird!

Every year we hear how Kane play too many games, doesn't get enough rest and is burnt out by the end of the season. So why is he playing now in a dead rubber?

That's some highly appalling defending from Kosovo there.

3 of my mates served in the Kosovo peace keeping mission. Everyone got on very well apparently, happier times. Apart from the Slivovitz, that was rank.

Looks like we get all three group games at Wembley, R16 game in Dublin (if we win the group), QF in Italy and then SF/Final back at Wembley.

Given that UEFA/FIFA seem intent on never giving us another tournament ever again, it's as close as you'll get to a home gig...
