I know it's the Star but that can so easily be true. I know Starmer has been heavily praised for offering the second state visit, but I think everyone realises the King must loathe the bloke. The US administration don't like this and I would think that Russia won't be too happy either. I don't know enough about the situation, but would think that opposing parties voting to stop the person participating, that was ahead in most opinion polls, doesn't seem very democratic.
