Proposals to require ESTA visitors to the US to submit 5 years social media history could make things very interesting.

A couple of years ago was refused entry to the US on an ESTA and had no choice but to apply for a 10 year B-2. Was a bit of a nightmare taking quite a lot of time and a not insignificant amount of money, requiring a police clearance certificate from ACRO and to hand in all the typical photographs and documents including the passport, but was required to hand in all social media accounts too. Eventually called for an interview at the American Embassy itself in Nine Elms which was ‘interesting’, I’ll just say I was pleased there were no skeletons in the cupboard.

Might put the cat amongst the pigeons this one:

Skeletons will now include social media posts citicising the mango-Mussolini. There have been several articles the last several months of people being refusing entry because of that or sometimes pro-Palestinian posts for example. That's highly likely to become official policy. I won't be applying while this remains in place, despite friends there inviting us over.

I get the sentiment but it’s nothing like North Korea. People like to say that because they have no idea what North Korea is actually like though. Turkey is probably a better example.
How patronising.

It's getting more and more like North Korea is
what i said.

From the US National Security Strategy
Economic decline is eclipsed by the real and more stark prospect of civilizational erasure. The larger issues facing Europe include activities of the European Union and other transnational bodies that undermine political liberty and sovereignty, migration policies that are transforming the continent and creating strife, censorship of free speech and suppression of political opposition, cratering birthrates, and loss of national identities and self-confidence.

Should present trends continue, the continent will be unrecognizable in 20 years or less …

Over the long term, it is more than plausible that within a few decades at the latest, certain Nato members will become majority non-European.
