It's really difficult for the lino though as Doc is moving very quick past the defender. Where Sky paused it he hadn't even kicked the ball yet, by the time he has seen the pass it's a much tighter call. Still should be getting it right though.

Would VAR have over-ruled that?

When the ball is on the edge of the box Bennett is nearest Moura, it goes wide and he starts day dreaming, he shouldn't be interested in Kane and no way Doherty can come that narrow to pick up Moura, his last minute dash to get in there is about all you can hope for. The problem is in the middle of the box and that ain't Doherty's fault.

Precisely. Besides which we need to stop the cross coming in. Johnny has been garbage as he was against Watford. Needs subbing for Vinagre asap.

I'm talking about players who are good enough for a top 6 side. Look at it dispassionately and Cav isn't. I'm not being critical of him at all: I'm just saying that it is a long journey and this game is illustrating that

No chance any wingback would ever be marking Moura for that chance, he's in a central position for the entire move so one of the central players have to pick him up. A wingback isn't going to come narrow enough to just be a free man watching the back stick, it's not going to happen.

If that move's mirrored there's no way you're slagging off Jonny.

Pundits just said the same he's just too slow. Yes absolutely Jonny was poor for the first and rightly should be criticised but it's not on the same level not even close.

Our failing this game so far is both wingbacks but for me Jonny gets a pass as he's been very consistent so far this season.

Doc has had a couple of very good games but too many poor and I said as much at the time. Today he's made yet another mistake, these aren't isolated incidents.
