The Things You Are HAPPY About Thread.

Really happy to finally be moved and settled. Loads of small jobs to do to make the place your own but all coming together nicely. Beautiful spring day today so outdoors taking advantage of that too.

7 months start to finish but worth the perseverance. Estate agents and solicitors often get a bad rap but credit where it’s due, they were top notch. Big shout out to the Polish removal guys who worked like trojans in the pouring rain and never moaned once. Chatting to them about what their families are doing to help the Ukrainians back home put a lot of things in perspective.

Not sure I’ll ever fully comprehend the ridiculous conveyancing laws in this country, or for that matter forgive time-wasters that pull out causing huge amounts of stress, but in the grand scheme of things those issues are difficulties others would be happy to have.

Looking forward to building a new life now, going to be interesting to see how things pan out but the early signs are very positive indeed.

Epsom v Cambridge tho

Do you have car to grid functionality too?
Nope, wish I did. My car is only a hybrid too so often end up exporting. Looking at getting a battery for storage as the increased in energy cost has really changed the payback period.

Are you with Octopus Go? I'm always seeing on the Tesla forums how that's the best/cheapest energy provider for EVs.

Again wish I was, was locked in to Pure Planet who then went bust. Octopus not accepting new customer atm.

That said it’s easier enough most days to fully charge the car from excess solar alone. Free transport to wolves today for a start :)

A nice little trip up Pen-y-fan this morning, then a quick stop off on the way back for some refreshments and picking up a Gallon of orgasmic cider on the way through Hereford.

Lovely weather, a horrible wind on the way up but a most enjoyable way to spend a Saturday time for a quick snooze

Hoping to get back into hillwalking this year, had a few issues with my feet last couple of years but they seem better now, even got some new boots for crimbo and they're ace.

Hope you get back up there soon buddy, I don't have much time so my trips are infrequent to say the least but I love spending time in the mountains, there's nothing better for a reset from all the crap going on in modern life and it really lifts the soul.

It'll happen, need to improve my general fitness with some longer low level walks and maybe some cycling first, then probably do a bit around South Shropshire, then mid Wales.

Not sure where youre located but pressuming your local, I find the wrekin is excellent for training, good for a quick blast up to get your muscles working and not too shabby a view when you get to the top.

We're in Newport so the Wrekin is our local hill, been many times, since covid its tough to find anywhere to park most of the time, absolutely rammed. Daughter went a couple of weeks ago, got there, got there 8.30am, just found one parking spot.
I try to find quieter spots these days.
The Stretton Hills are only 45 minutes away.

I also love hill walking. Been a long time since my last visit to the fells of Lakeland
Love the lakes but it's so bloody busy, tended to go more mid and North Wales in later years, if you stay away from Snowdon you can find reasonable routes without thousands of people

Was up pretty early this morning, don't tend to have a lie in at all nowadays.
Daughter got up to feed her cat and we got taking over a cup of tea.
Decided to randomly leave the house before sunlight and have daddy daughter date over breakfast for a few hours.
Sadly it wasn't a traditional English fry up, but pancakes and omlettes at a local restaurant.
Fun times :)
