The Things You Are HAPPY About Thread.

Was never sure if I liked their music or liked the things they sang about [Dukla Prague away kit, Len Gangley, Trumpton Riots etc]. Probably the latter...
They are definitely an acquired taste, you either get them or you don't.
Last time I saw them I was in my Dukla Prague away shirt, and the bouncers warned me to watch out for the Honved ultras at the bar ( couple of middle aged men in Honved shirts because of the song I was a teenage armchair Honved fan) because we don't want any fighting tonight.

I've got/did have the shirt as well somewhere. Rhubarb and custard colours if I remember rightly. Irrelevant as it would never fit now.

Same [won't fit now] as my Scoreline Wolves shirts with Manders Paint & Ink as the sponsor. Ridiculously expensive, as an original, on the likes of CFS and my 16 yo son doesn't want it! He's rather have this seasons shirt - he'll learn.

Christmas present bottle of makers mark has just been found! Happy evening . Johnny 75 is that one of your favourites? If so I can see why

It is. I got a bottle of Gentleman Jack this Christmas which is excellent too.

You kids and your booze.

Although admittedly I'm more of a liquor than beer guy myself these days. Pubs over there serve liquor or is it strictly beer on matchdays?

Pubs tend to serve everything all the time, no real distinction on matchdays. They may have a lager bar for the neanderthals.

I went to an excellent cocktail bar in Manchester the week before Christmas which was set up like an old speakeasy.

Some of the stuff was excellent and really boozy which is how a good cocktail should be. No beer in there at all.

Buy whatever you want, beer on tap from fizzy lager to real ale (brown beer with twigs in it) spirits, soft drinks

I can’t get my head around the cost in a pub v the cost at home. As quite a loner home drinking wins 99 percent of the time . The last drink I had in a pub with people was the London pre covid

Sorry, Pads, “pub measures”?

It's a predetermined measured amount where the barman puts the glass under the bottle hanging on the wall the pushes upwards to get the drink out,I think you get about 1/2 inch (12mm for those living in the civilised world) in the bottom of the glass, as opposed to a generous slosh when you pour it yourself, or a good swig if you're in Eastern Europe and drinking it out the bottle with local pissheads

Drinking at home is like a woman with a vibrator which has no batteries.

It will fill you up but there's no buzz to it.
