The things that I really, really like thread...

Finally got the ship model I have wanted for years. The mighty HMS Hood has finally arrived on the paddington towers slipway. Glorious, beautiful ship in its time, and one that my great uncle went down with. Really delighted to finally have it in my collection. Just got to build the thing now....

Cold bed in the summer..and not to warm in the winter either..im hot like an element so i will warm the bed in notime anyway

Was never a fan of Hood's looks, don't like how the inner most turrets were elevated on a sort of big pillar rather than a raised deck as most warships tend to have.

I think the Germans built fucking great looking ships.
The Scharnhorst, Gneisenau, and the Bismark, were lovely looking vessels.
Raking bows, towering but clean superstructure. They looked ahead of their time when they were launched, and especially when you see them against Hood and the other British cruisers and battle cruisers.

A good firm pillow, neutral bed, (not too warm, but not cold for sure) flannelette sheets or brushed cotton, lovely warm soft quilt and open the window.
Snug and warm in bed, cold fresh air outside it.
If my feet are cold it takes a while to warm them up, so depending on how I feel, either have a wank or get one of those lavender seed bags (like a hot water bottle, but it's full of lavender seeds and you can get both feet on it) that you put in the microwave for 3 minutes. Lovely

Hate my feet being cold. I have some slippers like that that you pop in the microwave for 3 minutes. Not very hygenic really come to think of it !

Bit excited about having me teeth whitened. An early Christmas pressie.3 hours in the chair had better be worth it.

Bismarck was a VERY pretty ship. As was Scharnhorst, and therefore by extension Gneisenau. You have to remember they were built in the early to mid thirties though. Hood was completed in 1920, and that was after a serious delay after the Royal Navy discovered the deck armour on its ships was worthless at Jutland. Shame they didn't use the retro fit on Hood to make it less susceptible to exactly that problem, in hindsight.

Anyway, it is a ship that has a special place for me for obvious reasons, and I am very excited about building it. I have my massive Bismarck to finish first, and then have a full set of Hood, Bismarck, Prinz Eugen and Prince of Wales in the same scale to build. They are going to glare aggressively at each other across my conservatory...

You and me (mainly you) built an Airfix Battleship on the dining room table when I was about 7-8. Pretty sure it was HMS Hood. It was definitely Royal Navy anyway

What are we...97? :)

After three trench collapses and daily floods, the building inspector finally passed my footings, hand dug 1.2m of clay and stones :)

I only wrote that to go with the flow.... I actually sleep naked on the roof with only a torn cotton sheet.

I've got diabetes and unfortunately it makes my feet cold, and most humans don't get off to sleep until their feet are warm. Except in Norway....

I can't get off to sleep if my feet are cold, but once my feet get warm I have to hang them out the side of the bed or I can't sleep. Odd really. I also rub my legs together, a bit like a Cricket.

Wombat's line he's just posted on the annoy thread :icon_lol:

Talking and asking people about Christmas and them not getting shitty with me :)
