The things that I really, really like thread...

My cats (when I had them) on the other hand were not of the same opinion when it came to thunderstorms. Their reaction was simultaneously sad and hilarious. In fact, given Langers' known love of the feline species I believe he should get himself a cat just for the comedy japes that ensue when there is a storm...

My 5 year old's reaction last night was also sad and hilarious. But I felt sorry for him so I let him come into my room! (Saved some money on getting my own personal ball of vermin there as well).

I remember a serious thunderstorm here some years ago when my older brother was visiting.

I made a pot of tea, took two cups and milk and sugar out on the verandah at 3am and went to wake him up to enjoy the show.

Not a sign of him....... just when i thought i had a scorpion due to a noise under the seriously thick wooden kitchen table i lifted up the table cloth and there he was, totally terrified.

I managed to get him on the verandah, but first flash/bang , he was back under the table, bloody wimp.

A really, really good thunder and lightning storm.

Just love it.

On holiday once in Turkey in a hotel on the edge of a cliff, the village below, terrific storm above, I was out on the balcony 1 floor below the roof so covered above.
Fantastic ozone burning, shafts of lightning seemingly a hundred yards away, followed by torrential rain, which battered the hillside and washed tons of mud down and into a gulley and.... into and through a restaraunt where the 3 remaining couples from our hotel were eating.... feet up, hold on to your plates as a 2 foot wave of watery mud surged through the place.
