The problem is we have a fixed view on the potential replacement as we have watched him play for us.
He has had some shit loans as well.

Sounds like he did well (c) Dino, last season but it would be a surprise if Vitor put him ahead of his own targets. You never know though but don't expect anything close to a positive reaction if we start the season with him as a starter

I'll admit I'm not an expert on Arias, but from what I have seen in the CWC and Libertadores, he looks capable of playing anywhere between the #9 and #6 (not including those two roles).

Maybe. IMO we’re doing a much better version of swinging the 5 man defense into a 4; I don’t think that it’s too far of a reach to think that Vítor would do something like:

LW - CB - CB - CB/RB - RB/RWB
-or-
LB/LWB - CB/LB - CB - CB - RW

Depending which side of the opposition we feel is more vulnerable.

I think it would be more foolish to replace our captain in a pivotal role with a vastly inferior, nothing player.

He's being written off because he's been here five years and he's crap, and the only reason we'd ever play him in the PL 25/6 season is out of desperation/recruitment failure

With how our recruitment is going this summer, don’t be surprised to see him lining up against City in 4 x weeks as our Semedo replacement. Particularly as Lima seems way off.

A lot can happen in 2 years. Obviously had potential, always has done but potentially gets tarnished because of the crap deal he was part of.

If he’s good enough, then fantastic, but I’m sceptical
