The Second Club Thread

1860 playing away today, so off to see Bayern Munich v St Pauli.

Just took this pic of St Pauli fans in Munich.20250329_122825.jpg

Win at home, lose on the road. 2-0 loss in Colorado (no Ronan in the squad) for CLT. Pretty desperate performance, offered almost nothing going forward. Zaha has started to look like a complete whiff. Don’t know what’s up there but he’s really struggling to get past anybody. Defense looked poor with Privett out serving a suspension for a DOGSO red last week. I don’t really care if Tim Ream is a USMNT captain, we go to fucking pieces when he’s paired with Adilson.

On to the next.

After the successes of the last 2 seasons, the CCM are having a real mixed bag of a season languishing in 10th place with 25 points and dumped out of the Champions League group stages.

Charlotte followed up Wolves’ 2-1 comeback win with a 2-1 comeback win of our own. Tough performance for the most part, especially the first half, in which we posted 0.02 xG. Hung around just enough and finally got a bit of luck in the 85’ as Zaha (who still looks a bit like he’s just not there physically anymore) won and scored a penalty, and then the late winner came from youngster Idan Toklomati, who suddenly looks like he’ll have Nigeria and Israel in a total bunfight over his international allegiance. He’s been a revelation, and, though it’s bittersweet, may be pushing Patrick Agyemang out of the XI. Assist came via Pep Biel, who now leads MLS with 5 on the season.

Highlights later!

Sampdoria hovering just above direct relegation to Serie C at best looks like they’re facing the relegation play off at best.

1) Surridge being one of the highest earners in MLS is actually embarrassing for Nashville.
2) The defending on the penalty… yeah, I know.
3) I’m cutting Joe Willis (Nashville GK) a little slack on the winner; Biel put some unbelievable backspin on that pass.

Dorrmund out in force in Munich today. A long day on the piss and nobody drinks like the Germans.20250412_153528.jpg20250412_160609.jpg20250412_151945.jpg

A big result for Raith yesterday away at promotion favourites Falkirk.

Three late goals see Raith go level with Partick in the final play-off place.

Two games to go, and on an 8 game unbeaten run too

Zaha is cooked, I think. He doesn't seem to trust that he can beat anybody 1-on-1. Still class in tight areas but not what we hoped we were getting. Pep Biel, on the other hand, is starting to make things look so, so easy. Hopefully we can make that a permanent deal (on loan from Olympiakos), but if he carries on like this he may be back in Europe sooner than later.

Regardless, a 3-0 win at the Bank, and guess what that means? Sir Minty is top of the table, bitchessssssss

A stone cold killer, he is.

One other stat while I'm spamming.

CLT have played 55 matches at home in our history. We've only lost 7 of them. Not too shabby given we were shit for two seasons!

Went and watched Chris Cornes(!) Worcester City v Corby yesterday, was good.

3-1 down with 5 mins to go, came back to win 4-3.

12 quid for me, free for my daughter. (Just under £100 for me and my pensioner dad for Wolves v Leicester next week...)

There were about 800 there.

They're moving to Sixways Stadium next season, the capacity is bigger than Dean Court!
