The Race to be Relegated with Wolves, 24/25 Thread

Or...they crumbled like a weak team the moment Utd put some pressure on them and collapsed from the point they conceded and then scored 2 goals against a team that had stopped for the afternoon after taking the piss.

Also lost 5-0 at home to Brentford.

About as solid as a sandcastle.

I’ll snap your hand off for destiny in our own hands v Brentford.
Relying on an away day favour from West Ham won’t end well.

Well for me it’s 50/50 we get relegated this season but if we do survive I’d say we’re 99% certainly to go down next season.

After the first couple of games of Pereiras tenure I think I said I was 50/50 staying up. Starting to think that was optimistic.

Some people say the new manager bounce isn't real. Sometimes it is, sometimes it isn't, sometimes it's short lived, RVN won his first game at Leicester for instance. Ours was really but now it's not, tonight we had many of the same issues we had under GON and added our best player dialling it in into the mix

Our survival depends on two things. How we do in the last 6-8 games of the season once we start with Everton at home.

And how many points Ipswich pick up in the next 3-4 weeks.

We need an organiser at the back. Dawson probably used to provide that, but he's fallen off a cliff it seems. Doc should have the experience to do it at a pinch, but is too busy getting out of puff chasing wingers and/or getting out of position himself.

I know we wouldn't get him for all sorts of reasons, but a Harry Maguire no-nonsense type might help. We need something a bit back-to-basics brought in to steady the ship.

That was the most worrying thing for me, we looked as bad as any of the O'Neil performances.

There's a lot of difference between losing to Everton and Leicester vs Chelsea and Newcastle
There is but the first 30 minutes yesterday were as disorganised as anything I've seen all season, worse than the Forest and Newcastle games, maybe it was just because Chelsea had a good night. Whatever the reason Pereira somehow has to improve our defensive performance. Quite worried about Cunha too.

For me the question is whether our players, or enough of them, have the mental strength for a full on relegation battle.
Cool heads, and nerves of steel. Sound like Wolves?
He may be right in what he says, but also I’m not sure how helpful it is for the squad, or the players concerned for Pereira to publicly criticise individuals.

You just have to hope we can stay in touch with Ipswich until the end of February and that all self belief isn’t destroyed. If ever a squad needed the lift of a couple of new players it is now.

We need leaders - not sure they are readily available, would want to come or that we would spend to get them.

6 months ago I wouldn't have been overwhelmed with Carlos, but now I'm desperate he comes in.

Not going to happen though I'm sure.

Let's deal with this season first .

I keep saying - our job is to finish 17th , not 10th . It looks grim right now , especially if we get no other players in and Cunha remains sulking .
Ipswich and Leicester are very similar , but Ipswich's togetherness is a lot better than ours right now .

The honeymoon period is most definitely over for Vitor .

I was hoping for a different back 3 last night and didn't get it . It was great to see Agbadou play much better .

Vitor needs another player in midfield and a stronger , more organised individual at the back along with Santo and Agbadou .
Play R Gomes every time . Perhaps Traore will be fit soon as well .

Straws I know , but what else have we got .
