The R.I.P. Thread

RIP Sir Bruce. 75 years in showbiz is no mean feat.

A large part of my Saturday nights growing up were watching him host a variety of shows, but I think this one's been coming for a while, bless him.

Wasn't really my 'cup of tea' but clearly a consummate professional as an entertainer & incredibly versatile - RIP

He has been poorly for some time, so it was not a great surprise. He will be remembered as one of Britains greatest ever entertainers.

His showbiz debut was at bilston town hall aged 13

RIP Brucie simply put one of the most consistent and funniest British entertainers of all time.

I honestly thought he'd be in his 90s by now.

The BBC are just airing his obituary programme. They must have had it ready to press play.

Probably got tributes from Bob Monkhouse and Les Dawson

Having checked my earlier facts,it was bilston theatre royal, and aged 14,he was also two months older than the invention of sliced bread! And at least the family can have the welcome mat back by the door, instead of him wearing it on his head

BBC going to bloody town on this. Good Lord.

He was a game show host who went to ITV for Play Your Cards Right, hardly the second coming.

I just find it poor taste they went to his friends and colleagues and said "right we're doing a tribute programme about Bruce please can you talk about him in the past tense" whilst he was still with us.

I think this is done quite a bit tbh, in the past I have seen tribute programmes put out within hours of the death being announced

Yep me too and who in their right mind who fucking agree to talk like that?

Rip Bruce but I was never a fan. Not a nice person in everyday life from a number of sources but that's showbiz I suppose. Always hit the mute or off button whenever he came on . Had a good career and good innings but a limited talent.
