Welsh footballer Leighton James - 71

Long and distinguished career and towards the end of it came on as sub for Burnley in the 88 Sherpa Cup final.
Really good player in his day. Guess I'm getting old when players I used to watch seem to be passing on every single week. ;(
 
Just recently been rereading the first few Shadlake books, but he ad been ill for some while by all accounts.

At least if they've made an arse of this tv adaptation (releases Wednesday I think) he won't be around to see it.
 
Paul Auster, author. I read his New York trilogy earlier this year, his best work imo.
 
Another one you thought had died years ago, Duane Eddy guitarist aged 86.
 
probs me and nimrod feeling a bit left out...
ah sorry, don’t often read this thread and assumed no one else would have noticed. New York trilogy is superb, but every one of Auster’s books are uniquely good.
