The R.I.P. Thread

Also just seen Ronald Bell has died from Kool And The Gang. Great memories from that concert, way way way back in the 80's.

RIP Toots Hibbert from Toots and the Maytals. He passed away from Covid-19 on Friday evening

I caught them live a couple of years back and he was amazing, so much energy, literally blew me away. They toured again a few years later and timing was bad but felt that I really should have caught them. Gutted, such a great singer and performer

Shame! I never got to see them myself. Missed out over the recent few years owing to other commitments and cashflow.

I'm the opposite, saw them many times at various festivals and open air gigs where they were supporting act.
Great live act, loads of energy. RIP

Ruth Bader Ginsburg, US Supreme Court judge.

That's going to kick off a huge, ugly battle.

Ozzy Osbourne and Uriah Heep drummer Lee Kerslake dies aged 73

French actor Michael Lonsdale, Hugo Drax in A Spy Who Loved Me, 89

One of the great Bond villains, cracking film.

French actor Michael Lonsdale, Hugo Drax in A Spy Who Loved Me, 89

He was the villain in Moonraker - Curt Jurgens was the villain in The Spy Who Loved Me.

Lovely character actor - was terrific as the French chief inspector in The Day Of The Jackal.

Moonraker ofc...
"Look after Mr Bond, see that some harm comes to him" is one of many great lines.
Auric Goldfinger had unquestionably the best bad guy line, but Drax had plenty of gooduns.

Yep, I was half asleep when I posted last night. I was even thinking of him being blasted into space at the time

Wow. He was one of (very few) my favourite Aussie cricketers.

He played club cricket in the leeds League for Nostell, breaking league records on the way. Imagine in 1988 Nostell bagging the world's top ODI batsman.

A top bloke.
