The R.I.P. Thread

Kept rabbits in the liver birds as well

Boys From The Black Stuff was brilliant.

It was genius. Bernard Hill was so damn good and it really caught the mood of 1982 perfectly.

Gizza job.

Boys from the black stuff was tremendous, meant a lot to me as I was in a simllar position as them guys at the time, that early 80's recession was horrendous, much worse than anything since, the office where I signed on in Madeley, Telford had an unemployment rate of 33% at one stage. It kind of helped me a bit mentally as it showed the problems on national telly and made feel it wasn't just me that was a lazy loser with no prospects.

Bloody hell just read about it, that's tragic .

Former UFO and Lone Star guitarist Paul 'Tonka' Chapman dies on his 66th birthday

Really sad news, until he moved to Spain recently he lived in the same village as me and I would see him from time to time out and about. He was as friendly and nice to talk to as he comes across on TV. RIP Willie.

now old willie thorne
his hair's all gorne
and his mates all take the rise
his opponent said
'cover up that head
cos it's shining in my eyes'
when the light shines down
on his bare crown
it's a cert he's gonna walk it
cos it's just not fair
giving off that glare
'perhaps I ought to chalk it'

No doubt we will be subjected to We'll Meet Again every time I put the telly on a terrestrial channel today so I will avoid that.

RIP, but I'd be doing my dearly departed Gramps a huge disservice if I didn't let it be known that pretty much everyone he knew in WW2 couldn't stand her. Still, many could and I'm sure she'll be missed by them.
