I don't think it's really a case of standing up to Costa, whilst it was a foul in my eyes I think it's probably irrelevant to how the situation developed, Pepe had won the header before he was fouled and it was a shit header with no distance on it. Costa probably could've just stood and watched it play out, Pepe still would've ballsed his header and potentially ended up on his arse because he was off balance anyway but Costa just jumped into him so it is a foul in my eyes, and one that probably should've been punished as it was just needless from Costa.

Neves should have gone. Even to come out from the bench and split the teams with those miraculous passes of him. The Benfica defender who is with the team is way better than Fontes, but...

Politics is why I don't like the national team much. I'd rather be watching a friendly match from either Benfica or Wolves than this.

Sure, but both should have gone. Bringing three CM and only one DM seems a bit moronic to me, but what do I know.

Neves has the handicap of having playing in the Championship, which matter a lot over here unfortunately. Even considering that the top 6 from the Championship would roll over the entire Portuguese league, minus the top 2/3.

This game really has underlined why we want the elite facing off against each other in these tournaments, not having it clogged up with substandard teams because it'd be nice for everyone to have a go. This is top class football, complete night and day to what we've seen in the other three games.
