The Official World Cup 2018 Megathread

Really enjoyed that game. One of the best of the tournament so far.

Only saw the second half, but that was a good game. Switzerland look good.

Can’t see Serbia going through now. Switzerland will beat Costa Rica so that means the Serbs need to beat Brazil - and that ain’t happening.

He's good, I just think Nuno is in the same bracket as Rafa - we want more from our centre forward than what he offers across 90 minutes. He's obviously a beast in the air and a quality finisher.

I’m a big fan. He offers something none of our current forward players do. Newcastle want £20m don’t they?

Yeah, I think that's Serbia and Iceland both done today. You never know but they're both going to need a weird chain of events to help them out.

So the word goes, obviously he has no future there.

Rafa doesn't like him because he wants his forward to do a similar job as Doyle did here - he doesn't have massive resources to hand so he wants that first line of defence to be right across the width of the pitch for the whole game, as well as chasing every single ball into the channels. Just not going to happen for Mitro.

I think Raul is our "hold the ball up" option, we're not going to be after a Mitro style forward to add to that IMO. I could be wrong of course. I think he'll just end up at Fulham, he fits them perfectly, they can afford it, he gets to move to London and play for a manager who loves him.

Let's look at brazil. They have not been great, Serbia could do them!

You would imagine Switzerland are going to comfortably beat Costa Rica, so the other game is winner takes all, loser goes home. Hugely unlikely that Brazil will lose it, and they obviously have draw odds as well, but you never know.

It was getting towards the end of the questions when a hand went up at the back and it became clear one of Harry Maguire’s teammates had snuck into the press conference room to ask, one Yorkshireman to the other, something out of left-field. “It’s Jamie Vardy here from Vardy News,” he wanted to know, holding up his clenched fist as a pretend microphone. “Just how big is the diameter of your head?”

:icon_lol:

Bants.

His head is ridiculous.

Quality challenge...

1-0 and game over already most like.

I thought it was just inside. So it wasn't a clear and obvious error to give it I guess.

Look a good side Belgium, playing well. Few loons in this Tunisia side.

Definite goals in this for Belgium.

2-0

This could be a complete rout.
