England women afflicted with the same ultra conservative management style the men's teams have. The game changed when Greenwood came on to give England width and then Carney to give actual creativity. And a really lovely goal to boot.

This workman like putting a shift in is a load of bollocks and doesn't win games and the manager is bang average.
 
2-0 deserved in the end, Greenwood looks a very decent player.
 
2-1 really poor defending and shoddy goalkeeping again.
 
I didn't see the first game but why Kirby didn't start is a mystery after seeing this game and why is Carney on the bench? I've never seen Aluko play well either, one shot off the bar apart she offered nothing but a bit of pace.

Kirby was ill in the days just before the France game hence why she didn't start. And I think it was a fitness thing with Carney.

No excuse for not playing Greenwood though. Kirby looks very good and Duggan came alive when Carney came on.

I agree with Slink on Aluko, I just don't see what she offers at all.

As you say - being over conservative by not playing an attacking full back against a supposed top side.
 
Yeah well done England much better performance.
However im watching korea - Costa rica and we look a way off how they both play..so much more fluid and comfortable on the ball..the players just look more athletic and agile.

Not sure what happened to Nigeria the other night,a complete turn around to their last performance.
 
Good start for Norway, Hegerberg scores at 6'.

Cote d'Ivoire are a strange side like most African sides I've seen. Seems to be plenty of individual talent but nary an idea of how to put it together as a team.
 
Poor Ecuador are just so far out of their depth this year. Sitting on a -17 GD.
 
I've had to turn the Japan game off, it's not watchable.

Cameroon - Switzerland started very scrappy, understandably nervy too. Settled down and some good spells of football by both teams. Buchmann for Switzerland is a good player.
 
Got to be honest, i've not taken much notice to most of the world cup. Been busy and i find with the womens football if the teams aren't the top teams it's just so poor. I just happened to be switching channels and seemed to have fell upon the wrong game but that's me done for tonight.
 
Would love to see them advance, those hairstyles are more than worthy.

They've been excellent, and equally Switzerland have crumbled!
 
Good go see women footballers are just as stupid as the men. You're losing, ref stops you taking an obvious short corner, to deal with some penalty area shenanigans. You then proceed to take said obvious short corner and lose the ball resulting in a counter-attack with your centre halves caught up field.
 
No spitting, relatively little dissent, referee not afraid to tell the players off, clumsy but not really cynical challenges, evidence of sportsmanship and actually quite engaging to watch. What's not to like?
