The defending in this game has been awful. If England try to sit back second half we won't win, we need to go for it.
 
Standard of the officials in this game has been abysmal.
 
Phew!!!! Not a comfortable 2nd half but great result.

Reality is I don't think England looked that threatened in the 2nd half a lot of huff and puff from Canada who created only 1 decent chance 2nd half.
 
Well done England, the better they do the less I feel their defeat of Norway.
 
Thought England were comfortable in that second half and deserved that win in the end.

If England beating Norway in the women's world cup makes you feel *anything*, you need to have a word with yourself tbh...
 
Canada don't look a good side to me, they had two shots on target, both of them virtually within the same couple of seconds, the spilled shot cross and the goal. For all their dominance that is pretty poor. Was nervy but credit to England, lots of good blocks and fairly solid defending, got a tad scrappy in parts but for the majority was decent. having seen Japan a couple of times I think we need to be fearful of them. We can't sit back against a side as fluid as they have looked.
 
What time does the semi final kick off? I hope it is not in the middle of night. I need my beauty sleep....

Midday kickoff would be an early start for you Al I guess. My brother in Oz is regularly getting up at 4am for West Ham* matches.


*don't ask - black sheep of the family.
 
Aye, if I was further west I'd just give up on the first match of the day (7:45am is tough enough).

Getting up at four for West Ham? Clinically diagnosable, methinks.
 
He has been a hammer since he was about four. So thirteen years after they won the world cup.
 
GREAT fucking game.

Having said that, even watching live I called BS on the USA penalty but thankfully we scored again later for a 2-0 victory. Didn't want 1-0 on a questionable call.

Best performance of our tournament so far. Johnston (my fav) has been a BEAST and her giving up a penalty was rather unfortunate, but thankfully Sasic missed and there weren't any other errors. Lloyd coming through for us yet again with the penalty slot + assist to O'Hara; that makes 3+1 in 3.

Can't even tell you how excited I am for the Final! Wish I could drive up to Canadia and attend!!

I think Japans the better team but wish England the best of luck. Hope to see you in the finals. :beerchug:
