The Official Euro 2016 Megathread

Deserved it, just about. It was a bit of a tactical fudge to throw literally all our attacking options on but credit to Hodgson for being proactive with the changes. Would have been gutting to lose or draw that thanks to an absolute goalkeeping howler - from the Carl Ikeme school of facing free kicks - we should take the group now.

Positives - Rooney, Walker, Lallana, Rashford

Negatives - shite goal to give away, Kane was poor (don't let him take free kicks ever again, he is awful at them), Sterling shouldn't see another minute in the tournament and Danny Rose is rubbish.

I would be fuming at Coleman right now. The way you set up basically told his team he feared what we would do them. To go full on everyone behind the ball from the very start was shocking tactical work.

Nah - I don't see it that way. We should get what we need against Russia. I am also pretty confident that you will beat Slovakia which also guarantees us through (as good as)

Mildly amused that one of the first to join in the celebrations was Gary Neville :icon_lol:

Also, I keep expecting to find this thread locked and being told to go to verdict thread...

Joe Hart can do one, though. Gives it the big one in the tunnel before the game starts - sings the anthem with passion - kisses the badge etc etc, then throws the only shot they have on target in his own net!

Got chucked out of a pub in Glasgow for celebrating that goal like a fucking maniac. Don't take me home!

That's the problem with being a Keeper though. Rose can be shit all game, make mistakes and generally fuck up for 90 minutes and all's well... Hart makes one error and it's 0-1

Best thing about that is the celebrations at the end shows Bale who has passion. Patronising cunt.

I know it was close range but could Hen have done any better for the goal? It was right next to his body when it went past him.

Glad you're still in one piece Sam

Still a good keeper. Might be worth giving Forster a go against Slovakia though.

Ha ha. The sweaties must have been distraught.

I think Scotland are a little sore still, but they wanted independence from the rest of the home nations so...

Totally agree with all of that. It's given Roy a few questions for the next game but I hope the answers include no Rose or Sterling. Kane must be worried as well now.

I thought Rooney put in a proper captains performance - he never stopped encouraging the players, always on for a pass, spread the play well.

Possibly as it was near post, but that would be pretty bloody harsh. Sturridge is six yards out

It's the positioning from Hart that really annoys me, why is he stood so far over to the right from that range? I wouldn't drop him though.

I don't think so, Sturridge poked it with his right foot, no back lift and I don't think Hennessy had time to react
