You get what I'm saying, though. If you have any chance of winning a competition like this, you're going to have to beat a top class opponent or two along the way.

Finished first time and with some pace behind it. It's near post, sure, but I think that the idea keepers should be saving everything at the near post is vastly overblown.
 
When's the last time Portugal were eliminated in two consecutive group stages?

Never happened as they've never failed to get out of the group at the Euros.

However they did go through a stage in the 90s of not qualifying for very much at all (Euro 96 was the only tournament they made).
