The Official Euro 2016 Megathread

If Sweden beat Belgium, and say Hungary got a draw...

Then the top half is completely open. I would then favour Croatia for the final probably.
Portugal have totally trashed their opponents both games but not scoring enough, im telling you they will spank hungary pads

Actually i hope its a decent odds so i can load some serious money on a portugal win

We'll see. I would say 9 times out of 10 Portugal win, and probably comfortably.

Following discussion in the PTG forum I think that is Wales playing Turkey.

- Albania are more or less gone, Turkey have overtaken them on goals scored
- If both Ireland and Sweden fail to win tomorrow (as you would say is likely if you were putting money on it) then no-one's qualifying from third in that group
- Albania could only go through if Iceland and Hungary both won tomorrow to leave Portugal/Austria on 2 and 1 points respectively

Silva has to shoot at the end there rather than cross it. Think Spain cost themselves tonight with a bit of complacency and giving Croatia confidence, once they had that they realised they could win and looked very good. Our half of the draw looks like it's going to have a lot of the "top" teams in it so it could be interesting.

Spain have had a few problems in their squad this week Pique, who supports Cataluñian independence, said, You play to win a football match, not because you are a patriot. Meaning, the Spanish shirt means nothing to him, it's a football match, so he wants to win.

Pedro is complaining about not being in the first team too.
I think Croatia played very well and never gave Spain, time on the ball.

I'm in Nuremberg for work and there's a fucking Turkish horn fest going on outside my hotel.

England now in the same side of the draw as Spain, Italy, Germany and France. Get a draw tomorrow and you'd fancy Belgium's chances of the final.

I think that side of the draw is better for us as none of those teams will sit back and will probably play into the hands of Vardy/ Kane/ Alli/ Rooney. But then we do look like we have a porous defence...

Will be far more enjoyable than watching England fail to break down a team with a massed defence.

Still completely up in the air as to whom Wales are going to play. Only way it can be Norn is if BCEF are the qualifying groups. If not, it will be Turkey surely. It would take something remarkable for it to be Albania as you say.

If you come through that side then you will be absolutely worthy finalists. No reason why you can't. I haven't been hugely impressed by Germany really. France were very lucky to get past Albania as well. We have seen the Spanish weakness tonight. Italy would be the side to worry about the most maybe.

Croatia on the other side of the draw will be a tough nut to crack wouldn't rule them out at all.
Whilst the better sides on England's side of the draw will be better suited for us can't help but think our defence will be heavily exposed.
It's all written for another agonising Q/F defeat to France.

You can't worry yourself too much about the draw, if you want to go really far then you're going to have to beat someone good along the way, probably multiple times.

The exception would be 2002 when the one side of the draw opened up ridiculously with France not getting out of the group (to the benefit of Senegal) then it would have been an ok Turkey team and a Germany who we'd panned 5-1 less than a year previously on the way to the final. Plus we really should have won the group, if you think we messed it up yesterday then have a look back at our 0-0 with Nigeria in that World Cup, baffling management from Sven (and I often defend him).

This is true, it gets tougher in the elimination rounds but if you wanna win you have to win over great teams..

Looking at it I can see Croatia reaching the final but will come up against a battle hardened side full of confidence.
There's nothing to fear all sides have shown their faults especially Spain tonight.
I think Italy probably peaked against Belguim, Germany look functional at times and France like England are struggling to break sides down and have a suspect back four.

I think Italy will now rest players wholesale. The result against the Irish is irrelevant to them and they will want everyone fit and raring to go for Spain. Might just suit Ireland.

ok, i have gambled portugal leading 1-0 halftime, first goalscorer ronaldo, over 1.5 goals at halftime, halftime leader portugal, halftime/fulltime portugal, total amount of goals 2-3, player to score and their team to win Ronaldo.....so im literally putting it all on portugal

the way i see it Payet is a goal threat for france on every freekick, set piece or cross, england lacks one at set pieces despite diers goal against russia
