The Official Euro 2016 Megathread

Hmmmm

Result-wise yes. But in terms of games if we take our biased specs off? North Korea v Portugal was immense stuff for sure, the final was a great game. Other than that what games were the highest quality?

It was tongue in cheek paddy. I liked 66 because England won.

Seriously though it was not great as Brazil were kicked off the park. Argentina thought street thuggery was acceptable, and Italy brought a new meaning to defensive football. Though the England v Portugal game was very good.

Oh man , Ireland let me down badly. I had my cypro bet with 9 of the lads from the local football team that we would lose 4\0 and we couldn't even get that right, ha ha ha

USA 94, France 98 and Brazil 2014 were all good. Euro 96 was garbage as spectical.

I'd rank the Euros that I've seen properly (I did watch at least one game in Euro 88 but can barely remember it, I was only 7):

2000
2008
2012
1992
2004
1996

Argentina 78 was pretty good with the likes of Kempes, Ardiles, in fact the whole of the Argentina side, plus the Jocks fucked up big style.

My concern with the Argentinian tournament was when Argentina needed to beat Peru by four goals to qualify, and they won 6-0. Some very soft goals indeed.

Italia 90 is pretty much the first tournament I can remember. I have some recollection of 86 (Josimar on my brother's black and white portable TV and England's defeat by Argentina) and Euro 88 (the Russians mostly) but 90 is the first one I can recall getting home from school to see matches. I don't think I could say which is the best tournament as they all tend to bleed into one with the passing of time.

Guessing the black shirted Hungarian fans don't pay much attention to seat allocation.

Good chance for Gudmundsson but hits it straight at Kiraly.

The Hungarians were beating people up to get them to move a good 60-90 mins before kick off. Stewards were there but could do nothing. Once the others moved it stopped.

It all looks very impressive but if there was a bloke stood at the bottom of the South Bank ordering me to clap in unison I'd probably move to the Billy Wright Stand.

Participating isn't my thing but a similar set up with a drum made for a great atmosphere when I went to Berlin.

ANOTHER late goal!!

Oh and more flares.

They need to check what people are bringing into the stadiums.

When I go to Wembley for the NFL the only bags allowed in are officially allowed containers and see-through plastic bags.

Unfortunate for the Icelandic right back, but Hungary have probably just about deserved an equaliser.

It's absolutely ridiculous how many flares/firecrackers are being let off. It's not exactly comforting to see how often people are getting these things into the grounds.

They put them in their trousers and strap then to their legs apparently. How do you stop that!
