The NFL Thread

Maybe if you'd held on to that interception in the last drive....

The 'we' was a general one as in 'we the fans', I am no packer fan. Was rooting for the niners actually, as I think they're a better matchup for the panthers strengths. That GB defense is godawful and tempting to want to play against, but the panthers D's strength is front 7. Hell, Rogers is a scary prospect even with a good secondary.

Superbowl XLVIII- who is everyone rooting for? Much as I respect Manning, I don't like Denver much so will be supporting the Seahawks. Even tbough Richard Sherman is a giant douchebag (though an undoubtedly great CB). I think it could be another geat Superbowl, with the NFL's number 1 offense against the number 1 defense. And you know what they say, defense wins championships... Too close to call though, maybe Manning's previous experience will be enough to make the difference.

Never watched a Superbowl before but as I'm not working tomorrow might give this a watch for a few hours. I'm not fussed who wins though!

Again not watched this before & not at work tomorrow so may stay up & see what its all about - agree with Stan though, have no idea who anyone is & no concern over who wins.

Last time I stayed up to the end of the game was Washington smashing Denver 42-10 in SB XXII (even though that was dead by half-time - the second quarter is probably the most perfect 15 minutes I have ever seen (0-10 to 35-10). I usually try to get to half time if I can, but after this weekend I reckon no chance tonight.

As I spend a load of money with businesses near Seattle, and they are NFC, I will want the Seahawks to win. Quality reasoning, I know...!

Starbucks fan Paddy? I've a soft spot for Manning and Welker so Denver for me.

I'm just hoping for a good game of that there fussball

I'm hoping the Seahawks win because I don't like Manning.

Paddy if you ever go to America and want to see an NFL game do it, the experience is brilliant.

Excellent start! Come on Seattle...

This is over. Defences win championships.

Great return and that is game over!

Really happy with the score....Denver suck

Really didn't see that coming at all! Does it tarnish the Manning legacy? I'm not sure, but that was probably the worst performance of his entire career.

I agree it does because he was known as a big match player but last night he was absolutely gash

He wasn't great but credit the Seattle D and the 'legion of boom'. Those two safeties had him stitched up and there was nothing he could do as his pocket collapsed around him. Impressive to watch, as was Wilson.

Had the Seahawks at 9/1 at the start of the season so delighted. Teams do back to back Superbowls about once a decade, if the team and the "12th man" keep their hunger I think they can do it. Young team that went without Harvin for most of the year, I can only see them improving. Hawks vs Colts my 12 month out prediction, what do others think?

I don't think there's much between the Seahawks and the Niners, very similar teams in fact. As you say it's rare to win back-to-back so just might be the Niners year next year to represent the NFC. As for the AFC, this feels more open, I quite fancied the Bengals this year but they've got to sort out the QB situation.

Hopefully the Vikings can draft Manziel or Bridgewater.
