The NFL Thread

I'd prefer to see the Dolphins get in. Ravens are boring.

Falcons in charge of the number two seed. Potent offence, defence getting stronger by the week, nobody giving us a chance. Could be the year we catch everyone by surprise

Whose not giving you a chance? All I hear is universal praise and people showing everyone will need to fear your offence due to it's explosive nature.

I watch a lot of the mid week shows on NFL mobile and game pass and they are always saying "just the Falcons" and not taking us seriously etc. As we are not a household name like Giants, cowboys, patriots, steelers etc.

I guess you could compare it to Spurs in this country. Decent players who have done alright and came close but are still Spurs so won't be taken seriously.

I'm gutted about Carr, was really rooting for the raiders this year. Would love the Falcons to win it but it's hard to see past the Pats

Annoyed that the best game next week Lions Vs Packers is on in the middle of the night. Bloody selfish Americans putting it on at their primetime

If Washington can beat the giants then the loser of that game is likely to miss out by the look of it.

Unless the Lions beat the Cowboys tonight and then the Packers win next week, that would put them both through. The Cowboys already have the number 1 seed sorted so not impossible

Think that's not specific to the Falcons, the pundits and Media just get set in there ways and avoid certain markets. No one ever really talks about the Chiefs as a contender and they seemed more fascinated with the Raiders revival story more than giving them actual credit. Personally from what I've seen of the Falcons (versus the Raiders and then a couple of other games on gamepass condensed) I don't think there is anyone they don't match up well against.

Cowboys (scromit) are the class of the field. Apart from that the Falcons can beat just about anyone.

We sometimes struggle in the red zone still. Particularly with all our TE's injured.

Defence is obviously still the weak point, it works in batches. But a decent QB who has some actual receivers/ TE's to target backed up with a semi decent run game to keep us honest will pick us apart.

Fortunately when it's been a shootout we've often been on the winning side.

The 4th quarter last night was brilliant. 31 points scored. Steelers last drive was just class.

I'm still confused to how the last touchdown was a touch down... the whole ball wasn't across the line even in Mid air.

It doesn't have to be. I thought any part of the ball over any part of the line is a TD.

You have to break the plane. There is nothing about whole ball and whole line at all in American football.
