The Music Thread Strikes Back

See, I could happily swap those 10 out for these 10 and not have any regrets.

Five Get Over Excited - The Housemartins
For What It's Worth - Liam Gallagher
Bully Boy - Shed Seven
The Headmaster Ritual - The Smiths
Old Red Eyes Is Back - The Beautiful South
Suedehead - Morrissey
Just - Radiohead
Some Kind Of Bliss - Kylie Minogue
From Despair To Where - Manic Street Preachers
Head Over Heels - Tears For Fears
Still no Style Council?

Will almost certainly be in the next one. Probably Walls Come Tumbling Down but you never know.

The benefit of this is I'm sticking each 10 of mine in a Spotify playlist, along with any others I fancy from other people's, so I should have a quality list for the commute to work shortly (been recycling old ones for ages now and I need a change).

In fact I'll do it now :D

Walls Come Tumbling Down - The Style Council
Yes - McAlmont and Butler
What For - James
Dragging Me Down - Inspiral Carpets
Painkiller - Turin Brakes
Sugar Coated Iceberg - The Lightning Seeds
Free Me - Cast
Feelin' - The La's
Small World - Roddy Frame
Love What You Do - The Divine Comedy

Not sure if it was intentional to have MSP next to Kylie but she was down to be the original vocalist on Little Baby Nothing, couldn't get released from contracts so they went with Traci Lords. Some Kind of Bliss was then co written with James Dean Bradfield and produced by Manics.

It worked better with Traci Lords given the subject matter.

I think 2016 was the last time I saw the Manics, I need to rectify that.

Manfred Mann - 54321
T. Rex - Jeepster
Beatles - Across the Universe
Clash - White Man in Hammersmith Palace
Stranglers - Duchess
Roxy Music - Pyjamarama
Smiths - How Soon Is Now
Radiohead - Karma Police
Who - Baba O'Riley
Blondie - Fade Away and Radiate

I assume we're just choosing singles and similar length songs. 10+ minutes would be a completely different list.

In no particular order…

Flag Day - The Housemartins
Common People - Pulp
Going Underground - The Jam
Two Tribes - Frankie Goes to Hollywood
The Saturday Boy - Billy Bragg
The Town I Loved So Well - The Dubliners
Hey Sandy - Harvey Andrews
Beeswing - sung by anyone
She Used to be Mine - Sara Bareilles
The Streets of New York - Wolfe Tones

And because they got a mention…A Solid Bond in Your Heart - The Style Council.

Too many songs I loved originally but over exposure turned me off them.
Sometimes when I really like a new album I try to stop overplaying it now to prevent this happening.
