The Manager Sacked/Hired Thread 2015/16

Flores leaving Watford after the final game on Sunday.

Bonkers. I know they have tailed off, but he has achieved everything asked of him.

And managed to look excessively cool while doing so

Come on, Jez, get on your bike and pedal to Watford. But I'd quite like us to have a look at the manager of Bristol Rovers - two promotions in two years with a team playing "attractive, attacking football" (whatever that is...)

He's done a cracking job. Both the Bristol clubs have got good managers on board at the moment.

He can stay at Rovers and do a good job there. We can look elsewhere. We need to be looking up for a managerial target not down.

Lee Johnson is alright, needs to be careful he doesn't get the same tag as McGhee did early on though for club hopping, also could do with losing the Tiny Tears act when they lose, embarrassing stuff when we beat them at Molineux.

Quique Flores to leave Watford at the end of the season.

Quite what Watford are thinking is anyone's guess but his stock has risen dramatically. Could be in for a big job.

Edit: Should have read the thread! Rest of the post still stands though.

As a follower of Rovers I would like us to look elsewhere!

Plus I am not convinced that getting promoted from League 2 is necessarily sufficient to get in the door here. A lot of fans would be dubious at best.

It can be a largely pointless affair judging managers by trophies won, it's easy enough to belittle a League 2 promotion but what else could he achieved when managing a club in League 2? The success is all relative.

Oh I agree - and I do think it is a cracking achievement. However, if we went for him I can see a lot of stick about "who is he?" "no ambishun" "getting ready for league 1" etc etc etc

Rovers have a very wealthy owner now, though, with serious ambitions - wouldn't be surprised to see them up in the Championship sooner rather than later.

Flores may be in for a bigger job but would we like him here?

Danny Cowley has been appointed as manager at Lincoln City, with his brother Nicky as his assistant. They were at Braintree Town this season, and to most people's surprise got them into the play offs.

Reports suggest that Alan Stubbs may be leaving Hibernian following their failure to win promotion.
