Sky reporting Sherwood has gone.

And all his little friends in the media will be up in arms about it, while the Villa fans will be celebrating wildly.

The mongs will be calling for Sherwood at Molinuex.

My fear too. A bigger fear is that he might be right up Moxey's street. He's honest in a Mick type way and he has a reputation for working well with young players. That said, he is also a bit of a twat in a way that Mick could never be.

There is a bit of scarcity of quality for them to go for really. Rodgers will think the job is below him. Maybe they could try and pinch Rowett?

Pearson is available and enough of a nutjob to take them on.

Perhaps a Sherwood/Ince dream team would placate the mob. Unfortunately they would blame everyone else as we fell off the footballing map.

'The sacking insanity continues at Aston Villa as Tim Sherwood parts company with the club'. - Gary Lineker on Twitter. Football is such an old boys club.

If he's talking about Villa specifically then I'm not sure what he's on about. Lambert got at least 12 months longer than he deserved, McLeish should never have been appointed, Houllier wasn't sacked and nor was O'Neill.

Moyes might take it - they're in a similar spot to Everton when he took them on.

I would LOVE it if they nicked Rowett.

I think he is on about football in general rather than what Villa have done over the last few years.

None of them ever get long enough do they? The likes of Lineker would have us believe they're all 3 months away from turning the team into AC Milan 89.

Sooner have Hope Powell. She has more idea and thats saying something. It would be the only hope any of those would give us. Sherwood and Ince would at least take us out of the division just like Saunders.

That said it might not be too long before Mark Sampson gets a call from a league club given his teams performance this year

Hope it's true as I've nothing against Villa and don't want them to go down. Sherwood is an appalling manager and that's exactly what would have happened with him remaining in charge.

You take the bloody job then Lineker. Makes me smile these pious pundits who never managed or coached a club yet criticise appointments and sackings from their multi million pound broadcasting contracts. Someone stand on his fucking toe

Moyes, Rodgers and Pearson the early favorites. This has Saunders written all over it surely?
