THE MAGIC NUMBER THREAD

I'm sure it's been asked before so apologies if I missed the answer, Mark, but why do you always insist on referring to the Wolves as if you were a neutral observer? I'm pretty sure I've never seen you refer to the team or club as "us" or "we".
Because I'm not part of the football club so it's not us or we, Wolves and I are separate entities.

Just need 7 points from 7 games now to equal the average needed to win the laegue over the last 10 years. Think probably 96 will do it: less if we avoid defeat at Cardiff

Interesting debate, this. I get what Mark says, about being separate entities, but to me "We" are all Wolves - the club, the players, the staff, and especially the fans. To me, "we" are one entitity - as Nuno says, we are all in this together, The Wolf Pack.

100% agree! 'We' from the manager to the supporter in row 'z' are all part of the club!

Too me we the supporters are Wolves more so than the players.
We'll be here long after they have gone.

The Players wear the shirts we are the shirts

Do you support Wolves?

Not particularly, no. I obviously still follow them closer than any other team, probably through habit as much as anything else, but I don't especially care about results or anything now.

What a bizarre stance.

What's so bizarre about not being a fan of a team?

I consider myself just a neutral football fan for the most part, I'll have preferences from time to time generally based on who's the most entertaining to watch but beyond that I don't really have any vested interest in what anyone achieves. I just treat football like any other form of entertainment, I watch whichever I get enjoyment from and when that stops I'll move onto someone else, much like many people would do with say musicians.

Just one thing that perplexes me then Mark is, whilst at the moment you have an interest in football rather than just us that you link yourself onto a Wolves forum rather than a more generic one which doesn't have one team as it's primary focus.

Not fussed that you do as it's your life. Just seems strange

My membership on this forum long pre-dates the lack of connection. Can still have plenty of worthwhile discussion on here without having any real vested interest in Wolves' achievements so never felt any need to find anywhere more neutral.

Fair enough

I didn't realise you didn't support Wolves. Now it all makes sense.

Every time I see this thread I can't wait to post the De La Soul video :)
