How on earth is that not a penalty for Leicester...

This is such a mess.

Dier’s knee is ahead of everything else. If the camera was level you’d see it but because of the angle it makes it seem his upper body is.

As for the Leicester pen. Stonewall. Literally no idea why it’s not given. Guendouzi telling him to get up straight after is a joke too

Attwell running the VAR tonight is probably all the explanation that's needed.

Also - look at that photo above. Just for a fucking second. HALF OF THE DEFENDERS HEAD IS AHEAD OF THE ATTACKERS BOOT.

Fuck off and die, VAR, you avalanche of cuntitude.

It‘a the angle that makes it look like that. Same as Leno looks like his head is over the goal line. It obviously isn’t.

I have no doubt that the attackers toe is ahead of the knee in that frame (is that frame accurate though...), and that’s what they are using. But the issue is the time it’s taken to make the decision and is it it good for football if goals are being disallowed for having a toe offside. Particularly when that wasn’t even the phase they scored from (so I’m told). How far back do you go? Arsenal are offside before the throw for their goal against us for example. Numerous times teams win corners from being offside and then can score from the corner. It’s all just a farce.

Only a matter of time before Leicester get the opener you'd expect here.

There's a bit of angle to consider here, I'm not sure it's that cut and dried.

I don't know they're so obsessed with offside though, perhaps it's because it's not subjective and if they weren't ruling on offsides what would VAR be doing?

If you are trying to guess perspective on decisions that tight it is absolute bollocks. If the head by terms of perspective is actually further back because of the angle I am fucking Dutch. The angle is about 5 degrees maximum and his head is past his knee. It's a bunch of fucking cock, and it has no place in the game.

Anyway - it's offside decision week clearly. Next week VAR will be back on handball.

It's an abomination of a system and is totally destroying the game watched by more people in this country than any other.

Based on that photo it's not the knee that plays him on, it's the shoulder

And another thing. Look at the ball against the Sheffield United player's boot. It is still touching the boot at that frame. So the pass hasn't been made yet. Thought about that VAR wankers? Thought not.

That is the law.

A player in an offside position at the moment the ball is played or touched* by a team-mate is only penalised on becoming involved in active play by:
interfering with play by playing or touching a ball passed or touched by a team-mate or
interfering with an opponent by:
preventing an opponent from playing or being able to play the ball by clearly obstructing the opponent’s line of vision or
challenging an opponent for the ball or
clearly attempting to play a ball which is close when this action impacts on an opponent or
making an obvious action which clearly impacts on the ability of an opponent to play the ball
*The first point of contact of the 'play' or 'touch' of the ball should be used

But he was running with the ball, so his first touch was before then. It's cack.

How do you judge the pass is made when a player touches the ball more than once? When it stops touching their boot at the time they move it on. It's rubbish. That's a goal. I hate VAR with a level of passion I cannot actually express.

That's the pass outside though, everything before that is irrelevant (he isn't trying to pass it to his mate, chasing his own touch and passing it again, is he). They've measured that bit correctly, you don't make the call when it leaves the boot, it's when the player touches it. Not that it normally comes into play as you're typically talking about less than a tenth of a second.

Don't blame VAR, that is the law, it's down to IFAB, it's been the law since forever.

Okaay...

We are talking about perspective then as well. His foot is behind the ball on that angle. Are you ABSOLUTELY sure he has even made contact in that frame? His boot could be just about to make contact to make the pass, rather than having touched the ball. And that sort of thing is impossible to measure.

I'm sorry. Leave it to the bloody linesman and fuck this shit off out of the game.
