Seems he's gone very Solbakken. Just used the exact same tactics he employed at Luton (diamond midfield, full backs pushed on) but they clearly don't have the players to make it work. And nothing changes, week after week.

P24 W3 D12 L9 will be his league record in 15 minutes or so.

But even stranger - he's been given money in two transfer windows to buy players for his system and ended up with Batth in his defence, McLean at left back, Vokes and Gregory up front. All very strange. Wouldn't surprise me if he is back at Luton soon.

I remember him being genuinely good for a year or two in the Prem. Was I imagining things?

No. His loyalty to Stoke is killing his career. Said he'd give them a season in the Championship and once he had they priced him out of a move. Worth considering the next time we slag off a relegated player for forcing his way out.

Linfield had a great result and like us it could have been even better but for a very late penalty. Still they are in the tie.

Interestingly, This is the first game I can remember seeing the stats of where each side scored with every shot. 3 shots attempted, 3 shots on target , 3 goals for Linfield. 2 shots attempted, two on target , two goals for the opposition. Perhaps its a BBC stats blip as there were also no fouls or corners?
