Still can’t believe the BBC didn’t show one replay of Martinez catching that ball, in real time he looked way outside the box.

Agreed - it might have been on the line, but was definately a key point that needed a replay and review at the least.

After the game they showed a freeze frame that had the ball on the penalty area line... the link above has a freeze frame of the first contact outside the area...

The one on the twiter thread is fake news

They did, at the end of the game, showed the ball was on the line.....I agree they ought to have shown it as soon as the ball went dead after the incident

Harrogate Town heading towards the Football as they lead Notts C 3-1 in the Play Off Final.
Should they hold on, their first job? Get rid of the community used 4G and put a grass pitch back in. Such a backwards move from the EFL to demand that. The 4G pitches are deemed suitable for teams to use in UEFA Tournaments. Removing the pitch also removes an income stream from the club

Yeah it's terrible. Not only removing an income stream for the club but probably stopping a lot of physical activity for young people or grassroots teams.

Yes it's an outdated rule. Astroturf in the Luton, QPR, Preston and Oldham sense was a significant advantage and other than stopping postponements wasn't fit for purpose. 4G pitches aren't that, most professionals in their 20s or younger will have grown up playing on them

Harrogate promoted.

Impressive stuff really, only went pro a few years back. The Tea Rooms will be going crazy tonight

Top clubs these days literally have indoor facilities with artificial turf. We have it in the dome at Wolves. Quite a few Scottish teams have it now because of the weather.

Much rather play on a flat, smooth 4G pitch than a bumpy muddy sty like United had to play on at Tranmere. If they get a light coating of water on if it’s been dry they are literally perfect to play on. No burns, not bad on the joints and all the other problems historically said of artificial.

Seems they may share with Donny for a little while. Doesn't matter I suppose if no fans are there.

The modern pitches are so much better! I played at kenilworth road Luton on their plastic pitch, sand covered, tennis ball bounces and plastic burn all included Amazing what 30 plus years can do

I have a lovely scar on my right knee after playing on the sand covered Astro pitch. Took a fairly hefty amount of skin off it

It's because you don't know how to win the ball properly, Captain Slidetackle :D

To be a category 1 academy now you literally have to have an indoor astro turf! I guess those are Premier League rules but EFL clubs still have to follow it of course - so it seems so weird they want to put teams coming up from the national league in that position

That incident wasn't a slide tackle, not a chance I am sliding on that shit (although as a keeper I happily dived around on it...)I nipped in ahead of their forward to get the ball and he clipped my ankle and my knee essentially hit the deck but I bounced off it to remain on my feet

Didn't Kamara physically assault a woman last year? Why does he still have an employer?

On a positive note, Onamah is some player.

Must he a decent amount of time since the Championship Playoff Final was on a weekday night.
