Can't believe Lamela just got away with that one (or how he gets away with being a footballer)

City denied by a handball in the 92 min....accidental as well.

Lets see if a fuss is kicked up over this one

Pmsl

Boly scores with his hand last year and the rules are changed

Now within a week of each other both teams involved in that game get a winner chalked off for accidental handball. This interpretation is ridiculous.

VAR gives a brush on the arm that denies City a goal but doesn’t get involved for Lamela foul. It’s not a fair system one bit.

The rules were changing before the Boly one. It was an Arsenal goal that started the process the season before.

Jesus told the ref after the game “VAR is shit”

Same as ours so we got consistency. But the directive is nonsense.

It's not a VAR thing.

It's a fucking nonsense. VAR has made it possible to create this type of bullshit rules.

and a quick look on Twitter and journo's are pointing out how VAR worked but massively ignoring its not VAR that is the issue here.

City fans who were taking the piss last Sunday have changed their tune though...

No because they didn't need to create this directive (it's not a rule or a law).

They have decided to do that for separate reasons to implementing VAR. Why, ask them.

It does end the conspiracy theory that refs won't give handball against big clubs (that's two Wolves conspiracy theories killed in a week, good going).

Don’t blame the officials on this one they’re applying the law to a tea. The laws the ass, my biggest gripe was Oliver not giving the Lamela foul in the first half.

What was the other?

I suppose the only way to blame VAR is that the new guidance/wording is perhaps done to make it easier for VAR to make the decision, by making the handball offence absolute and removing all interpretation or intention or unnatural position it means you can go down to individual frames and study the detail, if it hits an arm then it's no goal with no wiggle room.

Its not absolute though is it? Only applies if a goal is scored, if its a defensive handball in the box someone still has to make a decision whether its intentional or not

I agree with Adrian Durham on the handball rule they’ve turned it into a black or white rule when it shouldn’t be. Common sense has been removed and been replaced by an absolute science which it isn’t.
