The Live Match Discussion Thread: 2019/2020

Could be a scenario on the final day where Villa have to win by 2-3 clear goals against West Ham to stay up. I think Villa especially will throw everything at Everton knowing it’ll open up a huge opportunity.
Best scenario on Friday between West Ham v Watford is a draw or Watford win. Don’t want Villa going to West Ham needing something with West Ham on the beach. Got a feeling Villa will pick up more points between now and the end of the season.

It wasn’t suspended although the goal hadn’t been disallowed. Didn’t look like it would be either. The shoreline was showing 0-1 on the screen.

I'm guessing the bet was void then because the price would have changed to the wrong price. For instance if they were 6/4 before the goal but 5/1 after it no way are they going to let the bet stand at 5/1 if the goal was disallowed. It's a bit like the bookies using the palpable error rule when they price something up wrong but as it was the exchanges they can't honour the bet at it's actual odds either.

Yes I imagine the price changed in the slight delay for the bet to be accepted. I used to have that a lot with me frustrated trying to change the price and keep up to get a bet on.

It’s in my mind too. Hopefully Everton react from today, but a Villa win with West Ham beating Watford will mean as you say that they are on the beach for the last week.

The bet was definitely confirmed because I then looked at the draw odds. Understandable that it was voided after the goal was chalked off (incorrectly in my opinion) but I was wandering if others had experienced it.

No leaks anywhere about the Man C decision? Guess they will be fine and getaway with it..

Apparently everyone at city is very confident, I’d be surprised if they got a ban.

They've been supremely confident ever since lodging the appeal. I wouldn't put it down to just arrogance, I think they have something.

If Villa do lose at Everton it’ll be game over.

Watford look in trouble again all of a sudden, I expect West Ham to beat them and they’ve then got City before Arsenal on the last day.

At this point I’d still expect Bournemouth to go down as they should lose to City and Saints. Villa might miraculously survive though.

A point for Watford at West Ham leaves Villa with a lot to do, the saving grace for them might be that City are at Watford next week so Watford’s GD could take a battering.
Both Villa and Watford have got Arsenal, again another side you wouldn’t trust for a favour.

I think Leicester haven't won away this calendar year, or not since new years day? That's a pretty bad run of form, and their last 3 games are tough. They are catchable.

Seeing watford and west ham both win really put pressure on villa, who, to be fair did what they needed to do.
That heaped pressure on Bournemouth, and I was exceptionally torn watching their game, as I am desperate for them to go down, so was kinda rooting for a draw. No way expected them to score 4 though. Still want/expect them to go down.

It's one of 3 for the other spot, and my dream would be west ham, or watford personally.

I didn't watch the Villa game....did Grealish get booked for the absolutely stunning dive?

Nope.

They interviewed him after and he said something along the lines of "er, I think I went to shoot and kicked him. But if it's a penalty in midweek then I think that one is too".

1) Part A isn't true
2) Part B is bollocks and makes you sound like an idiot
3) None of that explains why you reacted like you did

Surely VAR can say "he dived, no penalty and a yellow card". They cannot watch that back and just say no foul!!

Almost as annoying as Sky opening thir HT and FT analysis with "The Podence penalty, exactly the same as the Fernandes one v Villa"

To be fair I thought the same thing until I had seen the replays a few times.

Right, united to win, score first and for Fernandes to score anytime - that should do the trick

Hard to believe this the same group of players and manager at Southampton that lost 9-0 to Leicester earlier this season.
