£180m for Aston villa to be facing relegation, once again proving that it’s quality over quantity

On Villatalk they celebrate the suspension of UEFA FFP. Shame EFL FFP is a completely different beast.

I can't remember properly but don't you get higher FFP allowances when you go down for at least the first season?

They are talking about the delay in the reporting period that UEFA have given. EFL have absolutely not agreed that. Time to sell the family silver for knockdown prices to comply, even if your owners have dough. If they get next season wrong they might not be back for a very long time. Which would be very amusing indeed.

I don't know the answer to that, but surely that's what parachute payments are for? Getting extra help shouldn't be necessary?

(edit: in reply to bear)

They havent got any silver.

It's not even like Grealish has stood out in the last five games as somebody who is fighting the tide so the big big figures won't come in imo. He'll go but not for the mind of money mooted. Mings has been found out and then I don't even think Wesley/Samatta are barely stand out Championship level.

Given how haphazard the recruitment process has been I'd be not.surprised to find out relegation clauses weren't put in their contracts.

I'm sure the possibility of relegation was never given a thought. They were spending like Real Madrid and challenging for Europe and wouldn't have wanted to deter potential signings with negativity.

When they talk about £80m for Grealish I piss myself. He's not that good. It will be a relegation fire sale. No-one is particularly interested. The fee is going to properly disappoint them.

Burnley very much in the Europa league shake up After playing us they’ve got Norwich and Brighton

West Brom only draw and have Fulham next. Brentford have hope. I would love the stripey shit to bottle it.

Think they’ve got very winnable fixtures after Fulham so I’d be surprised if they don’t go up still

Teams like Burnley and Sheff U, I dont get it..how can they be this good with limited resources..impressive...

Extremely well organised, work incredibly hard and play to their strengths.

Neither concede many, which is always going to keep them in games. The clean sheet is priority number one.
