The Live Match Discussion Thread: 2019/2020

Stayed still enough to allow Kane to slightly check and hold onside. Criminal defending. West Ham are appalling.

Fair play to Kane, he’s been rubbish and is completely out on his feet again (no idea why mourinho refuses to sub him) but he’s done well to keep his composure there.

It's why we never sub Raul, he's always likely to get you a goal even if he's playing badly.

This should be Moyes last gig in the PL if he manages to get West Ham relegated.

Yeah true, but with Kane having not played for so long and being completely flogged for the full game last time out as well it’s just asking for trouble with him I think. Surely take him off after the second goal at least!

By the end of the Utd game he was just standing in the centre circle and could barely move!

Felipe Anderson is having a proper FFS Costa performance. No conviction, just looks completely dejected. Never been convinced by him.

Pretty much the same as on Saturday for West Ham then. Concede the first after the 60th minute, go on to lose by two.

Talented but heart of a pea. I'd not play him in this situation. Same goes for Fornals. At least Lanzini tries.

I’ve never seen Felipe Anderson have a good game. He’s another one who has always been terrible when we have played them too. £36m... a classic West Ham signing. Not sure how they manage to do it so often.

Coote was on VAR tonight. It's a shite rule, but it's there so bloody give it

I'm very sceptical of the Premier League and have been for a while, not usually one for this tin hat shit but the Premier League stands to gain more from having the "big teams" in the top 6. Us and Sheffield United seem to have been on the shit end a disproportionate amount of bad VAR calls. No difference between that first goal and the goal we had ruled out vs Leicester.

Nah, I think you go Occam's Razor and I know full fucking well that David Coote is hopeless.

I'm more on the side of incompetence personally. I don't think we've had a VAR ruling go against us this year that shouldn't have as things stand, much as the hand balls and toe offsides are cobblers. The exception possibly being Everton's second which nobody seemed interested in looking at.

The two teams most negatively affected by VAR are us and Sheff Utd. I’m not a conspiracy theorist by any means, but I would definitely say there is unconscious bias to give decisions in favour of the big 6.

Some of the handballs in lead up to goals that have been ignored for the likes of Liverpool and Spurs is a joke.

Brighton have benefitted most along with United, obviously. The big clubs have always got the decisions, VAR is just an extension of that, but I don't think it's bent

Its not bent but when it's run by the fuckwits we have then its just shit.

Chuck in the shitty hand ball rule and 3 -4 minutes to find 0.00001mm of a stud offside and its double shit (hoping I never feel so dejected as I did v Leicester at home this season ever again)

Anfield absolutely dejected me. Such bollocks.

We deserved a point out of that game, doubtless Alan Curbishley is seething somewhere about us changing the team.

I didn't watch the second half of Liverpool as I was so dejected and watched the second half of the Leicester game impassively in the stands. VAR has has taken away from the game this season not enhanced it

I was an advocate of VAR but they've got it so badly wrong.

It should aid the game. I mean Son's "goal" today - he was offside, VAR spots it, fine. No issue with that at all. It's all the other nonsense I can't deal with.

Not a big conspiracy theorist but the PL simply haven’t helped themselves in the last 6 days, reality is David Coote is just not very good. Whoever judged that he was good enough to step to the PL needs to give their head a wobble. He was in charge of the Villa debacle in 2016.
PL line will be it wasn’t clear enough which is utter bollocks, we can just about live with the shit rule but inconsistency is unpalatable.
