The Live Match Discussion Thread: 2019/2020

Phillips is usually a walking red card (although he has toned it down a little). Be interesting if this is the starting point for Leeds blowing promotion again? Bamford blocking a certain Leeds goal was rather amusing.

Phillips is decent but that was a terrible mistake to make.

The Cardiff goal and Bamford blocking his team mate's shot really sum up Leeds. They should genuinely be promoted by now :icon_lol:

I feel dirty. I have to want a team managed by Steve bloody Bruce to win, and then follow that with a dessert of wanting Villa to win. Ugh.

Nah Villa draw. Still two dropped points for Chelsea and Villa still deep in shit.

A defeat against a team as bad as Villa would be particularly demoralising for Chelsea though

Just seen their next two games though which are very tough

In the cardiff-leeds game, is it the tv broadcast that has put crowd noise or stadium speakers? feels like the tv production

I’ve getting too excited and have looked through the schedules for the next few weeks. We’ve got a massive advantage with rest times due to being out the FA cup and the way the fixtures have feel compared to Sheff Utd and Arsenal. It’s not beyond the realms of possibility we go unbeaten these next 4 games and 3 wins would be huge.

We need to make sure we do our job and then it will be irrelevant what the others do. The delay to the Europa league and the scheduling should be an advantage to us so let’s get ourselves right into the mix of 4th/5th going into the last few games.

Another Leeds cock-up gifts Cardiff a 2nd. Leeds, Leeds are falling... So on and so forth.

NML with the assist, good finish

Sandersons looked good today - commentators saying “that’s why plenty of premier league clubs are looking at him”

Been linked quite a lot with bottom half clubs for some reason in past. He looks solid. A good 1v1 defender, covers ground well. Not the best on the ball. I think he will make a decent Championship/bottom half PL career for himself personally.

Cardiff had one shot on target and barely got near their goal all game. Mightily impressive how Leeds manage to do this quite often.

Mystery of the weekend: how is Jack Robinson starting a Premier League game? And for a good team too.

He actually played OK on Wednesday I thought! Clear lack of ability in possession though which is a huge drop off from O'Connell.

Bizarre signing though

Played midweek too. How the majority of these Sheffield United players are playing in the Premier League at all is a mystery. Championship players at best most of them, Wilder has done an amazing job.

Although Sheffield Utd looking like relegation fodder here.
