The Live Match Discussion Thread: 2019/2020

I am going to assume that Michael Bridges is still the greatest footballer in the league's history.

ALF was banging them in last season. No clue who for but he seemed to be the Bradley Wright-Phillips of the A-League

Craig Noone is playing but without our assorted awful 2010s full backs to play against he isn't having the same impact that we know and love.

Halifax vs Ebbsfleet is on later so Ambassador, with zis terrible football you are really spoiling us.

A reference for all the kids there.

Well at least ‘the’ MLS has been postponed so we won’t need to stoop that low.

That reference is from 1993. kids might be getting on a bit now :)

Nearly as bad as kids starting uni in the summer weren't alive when 9/11 happened

LIVE FOOTBALL ON THE BEEB TOMORROW (well the website)

We've all been a bit desperate for live footie. But it's coming. Joenbuk Motors v Seowon Bluewings in the Korean K-League is LIVE. 11AM kick-off.

I imagine the quality will be outstanding, but hey, it's a game.

I can safely say that the next Heung-Min Son is not playing in this game.

It isn't the worst standard though. If you want true dreck then the A-League is for you.

I've paid money in the past to watch the likes of Hednesford, Dudley and Bilston. This is a bit of a classic in comparison.

They do try to get the ball down and play. What you tend to find in these leagues is that the strikers are all fucking guff (anyone who's any good gets spirited away, Son actually never played domestic football in South Korea). So there's plenty of tidy stuff but they mess everything up in the final third.

Arsenal vs Man Utd, 1979 FA Cup Final is on ITV4 at 5 today

Last four minutes are excellent. The preceding 86 were somewhat less enchanting.

Think I'll save it for tomorrow at 5pm on ITV1 so I get my World Cup/FA Cup double header, same as last week.

Which WC games do we get tomorrow? I keep thinking its Saturday today so wondered why they weren't today!

England vs Germany 1990 (bit annoying as they showed the whole thing a few weeks ago)
W Germany vs Netherlands 1974

They don't trail the others, it's either 2 or 3 more.

Wasn't a bad game that in Korea. Bit odd but I enjoyed it. Awful defending on the goal!

I don’t think even the headliner is announced yet. The full running order comes early Saturday morning. Hoping for the 1986 final.
