The Live Match Discussion Thread: 2019/2020

Sounds like a training session and there is definitely some intensity missing from the match. As you say I'd expect Nuno to make sure you maintain a high standard, will be a stranger experience for the Olympiakos players I imagine.

It's strange to watch but LASK are very poor.

MU get a second from James - mainly through poor defending.

They have had an easy ride tonight.

LASK are really poor, 3-0 United. I know this situation isn't the norm but how have they got this far? Has not having their fans in the ground made this much difference?

Hopefully Olympiacos players react in the same way then.

I'm not really enjoying this, nothing to do with the quality of the game but it's just not the same.

Said this after watching inter last week and after that Times article yesterday, yeah play em behind closed doors but after a week no one will want to watch.

You do realise this is a wolves forum and most of us don’t give a flying one.

On the Everton forum I am on, we treat supporters of other forums who post reasonably with respect, and enter into discussion with them on a regular basis. 'Yid4life' (Spurs) & AlanWhittle (Palace) being two examples.

I sincerely hope you and your post are not indicative of all Wolves fans who post on here. I would like to believe you are not...

Good on the spurs and palace fans.

You come on here posting disrespectfully about one of the best teams the country has ever seen, including suggesting bullets be sent to their players, and wonder why no-one responds?

I think the reason is that the success or otherwise of Liverpool is largely irrelevant to us.

I look forward to interacting with you in the build up to our game against Everton obviously. But what is happening to Liverpool really has no meaning to us. We are good, but they are a mile ahead of us. And we have already played them twice so no chance of playing them again this season.

The person who was being disrespectful was Klopp. Go read or listen to what he said about Athletico. The guy is fine when they are winning, but he turns nasty when things go against him.

As for Klopps team being one of the best the country has ever seen. Well I must say I disagree with you. They won a European trophy last season despite losing 4 games. In my time, the Wolves team of the mid-late 50s were far better overall; the Spurs double-winning team of 60-61 were far better (I still remember that team coming to Goodison and standing on the terraces seeing my team demolished for 90 minutes); the Liverpool team of the late-'70s that won two European Cups as well as domestic titles; the Everton team of the mid-'80s that won an FA Cup, two domestic titles and a European trophy, Wenger's Arsenal in their heyday, including their invicibles, Chelsea and their titles in the 2000s, and finally, although it stick in the craw, the Ferguson teams that won so much for Man Utd. So for the foregoing, I have to say that I don't consider them to be one of the best the country has ever seen. Happy to discuss, however.

And finally, as I have posted, death threats and vile comments have been posted on social media towards Adrian. I posted a link - take a look.

PS. Good luck for the second leg (if it takes place) - you should take them easily at home.

I think you'll beat us. If you do, then I hope it will consolidate your top-end position and hopefully get you into the top 4. That would REALLY upset Sky and the favouritism they show to some teams, whereas the performances of yourselves and Leicester this season has largely gone un-noticed.

Hang on - again that's a load of anti-Liverpool

If I went on Grand Old Team and posted a load of anti-West Brom stuff what do you think the average poster there would reply with?

Meh? If I am lucky.

Ban this twat who is posting irrelevant shite. Rather more likely.

We don't give a tinker's cuss about Liverpool unless they are next on the fixture list.

No it's not, it's placing things in context.

For example, do you really think this Liverpool team is the equal of Ferguson's Man Utd? Really?

Or Wenger's Arsenal in their peak YEARS?

I'm trying to engage in a reasonable conversation, but it is beginning to appear that some just want to argue against facts...

I don't think this Liverpool team are that great, I managed to get a billion Twitter responses when I vaguely suggested that a few weeks ago after they scraped past an awful West Ham team.

Not so many messages recently, funnily enough.

They're a damn good team but I don't think any outfit with so little flair in midfield can be considered right up there, also they'll need to go on and win the league multiple times if they want that kind of consideration.

Yeah, I'm not getting all the Liverpool hype but I guess the media have been waiting for a "serious" threat to the Man City dominance and so are pushing them as all-time greats (they aren't)
