The " Honey I'm home and I'm bloody starving , what's for dinner " Thread.

You can either have toast or normal bread and butter cut into strips. Whatever floats your boat.

I have a toaster, I have bread and I have eggs. Sounds like I have a date with them next Sunday. I like eggs on bread, so I'm sure bread in egg will be good.

Soft boiled eggs are awesome. I use a foolproof method that gets them perfect every time straight from the fridge. White fully cooked and not dribbling, and the yolk warm and runny.

Half an inch of water only in the bottom of the pot, brought and kept on the boil. Put in your eggs, as many as you like. Lid goes on the pot, 6 and a half mins later they are perfect. The steam cooks the eggs, not the water, which is why you need the lid on.

I'd say Bear has his eggs spot on.

And Fruity on a bacon sarnie.. ok, i'll give you that one. Very nice.

Toasted soldiers are best, they make better dunkers.

I agree with Bear about the boiled eggs. It's a waste of a boiled egg if the yolk is too hard.

I can never get mine right though. Either the yolk is too hard or the white is a bit too runny.

Chicken cooked in fresh basil, butter, garlic and home grown tomatoes. Delish.

I love basil.

Follow my method. Trust me they come out perfect EVERY time without fail. Only 6min 30s though, no longer. Oh and rinse them in cold water after as it will stop them cooking and the yolk going hard before you eat them.

No cooked meal for me tonight, just a crisp sandwich.

I like crisp sarnies.

Especially cheese and onion with salad cream on. Delish.

I do too. Especially salt n vinegar with a gob of cheese on the side to nibble on. I also splash a little vinegar on the sarnie too

Everybody knows Walkers Worcester sauce are the best crisps for putting in sandwiches.

Clipped a load of basil from one pot today. Have 3 bunches hanging in the garage drying out. Can't wait.
The tomatoes are still green. Hoping I get one for every flower, if I do I'll have loads!

I've always struggled to grow basil. No idea why.

Picked up a basil plant a few weeks ago from Morrisons. Thought it would do for a few dishes, it's now a basil bush! Struggling to know what to do with so much basil now.
