Bacon & egg breakfast tarts.

Tarts?

I had a bacon and egg butty yesterday. With a bit of ketchup. Bloody lovely it was.

What's people opinions on bacon and how much to use? Do you really crisp it up or do you like it still floppy?

Personally I like mine medium. Just starting to go crispy in places but still floppy and not burnt. Can't stand crunchy bacon. Trim off the fat too. I hate that squidgy stringy feeling when you bite into it if you leave it on.

Three rashers absolute minimum for a full two slice sandwich. Four is preferable though. Laid lengthways up and down over each other for maximum bread coverage.

Only ever ketchup and fruity brown sauce on bacon. Normal Brown sauce only as a last resort.

I don't like crispy bacon as much as 'fleshy' bacon. But I know I'm in a minority. But crispy bacon is still bacon, and bacon is good. And the more bacon, the better. Nom. Bacon bacon bacon.

It's the reason why vegetarians are so wrong. You shouldn't not eat bacon.

I dont like me meat floppy :)

I like my bacon well cooked. Not quite 'American style' crispy but so it's going brown on the edges.

I'm not all that fussed about how many rashers are used. I'd probably do 3 if I was making myself a butty but as long as it's got bacon & bread then it's all good.

As for sauce, brown sauce is always my first choice (preferably spicy like Daddies rather than fruity like HP) but failing that I can eat it with ketchup too.

Tarts, like a pastry case with fluted edging. Then inside omelettey egg filling with bacon bits. Bloody lovely.

Ah I see. A bit like a bacon and egg quiche.

Sounds weird. I don't do weird. Though I did have to have some quinoa the other day. It was like warm soft grit. Utterly pointless.

Yeah basically, but little individual ones. I had brown sauce.

Maybe I should have said unfamiliar instead.

I have one rule on how me bacon sarnie is made, it has to be on white bread. Not bothered how many rashers, or how its laid.

Good point. I don't mind a soft white cob but no brown or wholewheat/seeded batch nonsense with breakfast sarnies.

Agreed, a bacon sarnie should never be on brown, or that seeded shit bread of any type. Any white will do either slices, cob, or roll.

I agree with the majority of this post.

I'm now scared. I agree with bear on a food related issue.

This is just pure nonsense though. Nowt wrong with a lovely wholemeal slice of bread for yer bacon sarnie.

Grilled Tandoori King Prawns with a mango dip and some kind of salad. Involving chickpeas.

Homemade Pecan ice cream.

Nice slab of Pork Loin for the Mrs tonight with sweet pot mash and vegetables.
