The Goggle Box Thread

Well I've read the book so I already know what's going to happen. I'd probably watch it anyway though, I've got very little willpower when it comes to things like this.

I'll watch it for that very reason.

But I won't get chance until I'm back home later tonight.

Babylon was a bit of a mess. Watchable but it couldn't make up its mind whether it wanted to be a drama or a comedy and ended up being neither. Some good characters in it though, so I'll probably watch the series later in the year.

Agreed. I lost interest about half way through. That Robbie character was so overplayed and unsubtle that I was cringing whenever he was on screen.

Confession time:

I watched the Magaluf Weekender last night and was disappointed it was the last in the series.

TBF it's probably the only genuinely appalling programme I watch that I accept is genuinely appalling. It's utterly shite. But is filmed in the hotel I stayed in back in 1999. It makes me feel very old indeed.

Yep. The characters were too stereotypical imo. Hope this improves for the series.

I've recorded it. Is it worth taking the time to watch?

Brooklyn nine nine continues to be a pretty decent way to spend half an hour, I discovered it's made by the guys who did Parks and Recreation which explains why I like it.

I'm not going to bother watching the last half hour or so which I missed cause I lost interest.

Take from that what you will.

Anyone else watched the first two episdoes of Inside No.9, Reece Shearsmith and Steve Pembertons new thing?

I think they've been very good. This week's almost silent episode was very clever and very funny. But they've obviously never heard of peripheral vision.

Game of Thrones season 3 box set has arrived!

Once the repeats of Deadliest Catch have finished (1 left on the Sky box) I think I'll watch it from the very start in the build up to season 4.

30 whole episodes to enjoy. Quite excited.

My boxset arrived on Tuesday. Watched episode one of series one as a starter and will be working my way through all 3 series ready for April as well.

Anybody else watch Line of Duty?

Watched the 1st episode last night, pretty decent. I was a fan of the 1st series and this continued in a similar manner, pretty good ending also.

Been re-watching GoT also having got the blu-ray box set some good special features particularly the narrated histories by the actors in character.

Not sure if I've mentioned it on here but True Detective starring Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey is fantastic. It's about two detectives hunting a serial killer. They are both really, really good in it. The first episode is On Demand now or it starts properly tomorrow (Sat) at 9pm on Sky. It's a little bit slow to start off with (like most HBO stuff) but the quality just oozes out of it and quickly ramps up.

Now halfway through my re-watch of GOT series one. It really is such a good series and Peter Dinklage is ridiculously brilliant as Tyrion Lannister. Can't wait for April.

I've seen the first two. It's good stuff
