The Goggle Box Thread

There's half an hour of my life I'm never going to get back. If anyone with a Wolves accent fancies a job as a dialect coach I think there's a niche with your name on it.

Truly, truly dreadful. Thankfully it's a pilot.

Middle class voyeurs from Reigate and Weybridge are fawning over it on Twitter. Not one of them has ever ventured into the mist that covers the road past the Watford Gap service station.

Good lord. If you are going to set a pilot in wolverhampton of the eighties please dont use a ring road sign that has been there for less than five years.

Now just realised it is supposed to be about now. thought it was about caitlin moran growing up. Still bollocks though.

What utter fucking drivel that was. The 'comic' geniuses of today such as Chris Addison and Sarah Millican thought it was brilliant so it must be good, maybe I didn't get the 'joke'.

Enjoyed Sherlock this evening very much, not sure as whether they actually gave an explanation as to how he faked his death though.

It seems unlikely that he would have given the real explanation to Anderson whom he has shown no respect for in any of the previous episodes. Watson would have been the only person whom Sherlock would have likely had the respect for to tell the real explanation but he was clearly not interested.

It was Ace. I think perhaps we were being encouraged to draw bits of the truth from all the different explanations? Anyway, there's something not quite right about Watson's girlfriend. I'm not sure Sherlock was able to get more than superficial information from reading her. For me the best scenes were between Molly Hooper and Sherlock and Watson's speech in the carriage. Bring on episode 2!

Episode 1 of Sherlock was great.

Episode 2 was even better - just glorious TV. Holmes and Watson were at their very best and I loved the way they injected so much humour into it. They were then also able to pace it perfectly with the Mayfly Man case. A colleague at work thought it took too long to get going but I actually disagree - I thought it was going to be purely a light hearted episode but it seemed to morph into a more traditional format as it went along - more clever writing than anything else IMO.

Possibly my favourite episode thus far of Sherlock, even though it lacked the intensity of the end of series 2.

I bloody love this show, and I can't think of many better on-screen partnerships than Cumberbatch and Freeman - they've got tremendous chemistry.

Agree with you re ep. 2, but I thought ep. 1 was bollocks. Edit: Because the writers tried to be far too clever.

I did find it frustrating that we don't really know what he did at the end of the last series but overall I really enjoyed it. I loved the part when Sherlock and Watson were reunited.

I really enjoyed last night's episode but I do hope they get back to cracking cases soon. And not big end-of-the-world terrorist plots but just small scale clever things, like wot the original Sherlock did.
I know there was a case last night, but that wasn't really the focus.

Edit: Last night's for me - watched it on I-player

Sherlock is easily the best thing on TV at the moment. Absolutely genius.

I somehow managed to miss the entire second series! When was it on??

Just seen this photo on Facebook.

Can. Not. Wait.

Anybody watch the 7.39? Was a decent watch tbf.

Just installed my sky on demand box, there's actually a really good selection of stuff to watch!

Was that the one with Olivia Coleman and Sheridan Smith? Forgot about that. Might see if it's on the iPlayer.

Yeah. Was a good little romdramedy. Think I just made that up. But then I also thought I made up 'TOWIE' as a way of shortening the only way is Essex.
