Really enjoyed the last one, hope this one measures up.New series of last one laughing out this Thursday.
Is he on this forum? We started it last night too, 3 episodes in. Morrissey's character seems like a man that has never smiled or laughed in his life
The cast is superb. I wouldn't last 5 minutes! Based on Ep 1 Alan Carr surely won't last long.New series of last one laughing out this Thursday.
The second episodes joker killed me off.The cast is superb. I wouldn't last 5 minutes! Based on Ep 1 Alan Carr surely won't last long.
Yeah I remember the 'Friday night live' version late 80s. Hosted by Ben Elton and featuring early incarnations of Harry Enfield, Josie Lawrence etc. I thought it was excellent. The general format has been tried several times in the UK, this is the first time it's officially been SNL.
I saw the opening political sketch and thought that was cringeworthy and not at all cutting, clever or satirical. Really poor versions of Rik Mayall's The New Statesman or the PM and his assistant Sebastian on Little Britain.US SNL can be very hit or miss. I try to watch every episode and much prefer the shows with an older host.
I don't know how close your version is to ours, but if you have a "weekend update" that tends to be pretty funny every week. The opening sketch, usually political, is also normally quite good.
I'm surprised it has taken 50 years to try a UK version, but with the right cast and scriptwriters it might succeed - if it doesn't try to be all things to all people.
