I'm an old fucker, Grandstand on BBC1, World of Sport on ITV was peak Saturday afternoon. Sportsnight with Harry Carpenter on a Wednesday. The world moves on, we are now spoilt, but that spoiling dilutes the uniqueness of the product and your appreciation of it.

I'll go to my grave saying Saint and Greavsie was shit, but then I always preferred Swap Shop/Saturday Superstore to Tiswas. I wasnt a bantz guy before it was called bantz. (Posted before I'd seen Lupo's )

I still miss Grandstand and World of Sport, loved them both. Dont have many great memories of time with my dad but Saturdays watching stuff like the Scrambling, then helping him study form and pick a few horses, followed by toasting crumpets (we called them pikelets) and watching the wrestling with Kent Walton were a highlight of my childhood.
